It was stolen from the back of his '71 Datsun 510 Hatchback on Canal St. in New York City in 1977. His big sister gave him another banjo. He's still playing that one. Accuracy of Book Profile

It is accurate.

Draw of Story

What drew me into this story is the mystery involving the narrator supernatural talents, how he finds meaning in family after this experience and the way he is able to find a way out for the scariest thing in human experience: death.

Possible Drawbacks

Nothing made me want to put the book down, however narrative can get a bit confusing regarding main character arc. A suggestion is providing more insight about the narrator’s life before the hospital so the initial plateau is better defined and also in order to allow for more identification with audience.

Use of Special Effects

THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

Primary Hook of Story

I would watch this movie because it is a story that has similarities with vampire stories which are usually enticing and interesting, but at the same time it is quite unusual how protagonists achieves his immortality and the body he ends up getting hold of at the end of the narrative.

Fanbase Potential

It could have a large fanbase as supernatural themes are usually popular both in movies and TV. In the case of an adaptation for TV, the formula of the story proposed by the author is even more prolific as many stories may arise from the bodies the narrator’s soul takes control of in order to keep on living. A mix between vampire stories and hospital-themed plots seem to be appealing enough.

Awards Potential

It could have awards potential especially considering graphic effects and acting. Screenplay can also be fruitful regarding possible stories and characters that may be created beyond the storyline in the book.

What’s New About the Story

Even though immortality theme is not uncommon in fiction, story is overall original and unique due to the form the protagonist is able to achieve it. Developing the character’s that the soul takes possession of the body in more levels would sure make the story become even deeper.

Lead Characters

The protagonist’s talent to master mindfulness and discovering a technique to fool death is something exceptional, however its duality is what makes audience relate to him, as escaping death is a natural instinct shared by each one of us.

Uniqueness of Story

It is an original story and writing is exquisite, however storyline could be improved. A suggestion for this is following classic protagonist arcs. Narrator’s life challenges are not clear enough in the first part of the narrative.

Analyst Recommendation

CONSIDER

Justification

Consider it because plot is original and protagonist has great potential for becoming an all-time classic due to his duality, however protagonist’s main struggle could be even clearer in order to create more bonds with the audience.
