Development Pitch
Having escaped abuse, at mid-forty,Jade started over in a new home and tackled the repairs. The doctor discovering a lump was nothing compared to the devastating news of her father’s diagnosis. Watching him deteriorate, she questions life and what she believes. Lost in emotional turmoil, Jade withdraws where the worry of her failing health and battles with the health system for answers could be kept private. The segregation overwhelming, she joins an online community and hides her illness safely behind a keyboard. The distant friendships provide support and the distraction needed. One man won’t let her push him away and builds a bridge across the miles over a year. With her tumors removed, Jade is ready to attend the party with her online family to celebrate. Meeting Brady in person sparks the hope of a new future, but life would throw one more unexpected twist. Online, where real becomes make-believe and make-believe, becomes all too real.
