Short Summary

Marta, an independent young college grad, finds peace in the ocean waves off San Diego while waitressing to make ends meet. She befriends a homeless Iraq War veteran, Cap, who agrees to watch over her surfboard every night in exchange for food. Marta soon realizes Cap is much more than he seems.


Marta has adapted well to being a single Mother with the help of her community of friends. Cap, finally finds the help he needs to ease his PTSD and returns back to Marta to find that he is a father of a beautiful little girl. They all begin a new life together as the community changes.
