Development Pitch
Suspense, romance, action. Friday night. 6 PM. An eerie stillness pervades shadows in the empty Seattle Federal Building. An inconspicuous woman pruning lobby plants awkwardly meets a buff FBI agent she's watched from afar, and learns he's headed to a mountain vacation. Moments after he leaves, she's "The Hitman's Mistake", as an attempted mob hit unfolds before her hidden eyes. The victim she rescues tells her to flee-a cop instantly on scene now knows she's involved. Who'll help? She escapes to Montana in search of the agent, the person she must trust. A dude ranch sits closest to his family home. She books a room and catches a Greyhound. Miranda's journey to locate Agent Grant Morley continues while she trail rides a mule up the mountain. It ends when Grant finds her in the woods with a bullet hole in her side. To him, she could be a hapless victim or a devious accessory to a heinous crime. While they battle to survive and untangle the layers of deceit masking police cover ups, an undeniable attraction between Miranda and Grant pulls them together, and then thrusts them apart. A family would hinder his career goals, and she longs for a husband and children. Arresting the mobster earns Grant a promotion to ASAC in Reno, but Miranda's lost her own family and knows the danger of his job. In Reno, Grant concludes he can do more good by mentoring. He brings Red, the mule, to Seattle. In the final confrontation, they fight the crooked cop and plan a life together in Montana.
