Development Pitch
Coming from a place where casinos were built from the ground up, i saw the problems that can arise first-hand when someone in the family has a gambling problem. With so many casinos and places where people gamble across the world, I see this as something that can touch the lives in many households and maybe give people a sense of hope that they can overcome anything and also help those who have a gambling problem themselves. This film will definitely be a tearjerker due to the drama that the gambling causes within her family and the way she handles her cancer situation. When I wrote this, I pictured my mother being played by someone along the likes of Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, or Lynn Whitfield. Someone who could really bring out the character in the story.
