Development Pitch

Pieces, which was chosen by one of the largest horror magazines in the world, Rue Morgue, as one of their “Top Ten Essential Reads of 2019” has gotten rave reviews and has even been called a “A Silence of the Lambs meets Seven’ mash-up” by one site. This hit dark crime thriller is perfect for a potential film or television series. With the concept of, “how would you react to receiving something horrific”, Pieces is a study of flawed and unique characters and how they react when they receive a body part in the mail. Each of the twelve character reacts in drastic, horrific and comical ways… but none of them do the rational thing, call the police. While each body part has its own story, it is the cat and mouse story of the killer and a reporter he is taunting that ties it all together in a classic crime thriller way. With its intriguing crime story, Pieces is perfect for an intense television series. With twelve individual stories that are all tied together, each episode would focus on one recipient of a body part and tell their story, all while using the frame story to connect each episode together. With its satisfying, yet open ended cliffhanger, there is plenty of material for numerous seasons. As a film series, it would focus more on the cat and mouse game with shorter segments of the missing body parts. With a sequel being written and rave reviews still coming in, Piece is ripe for an adaptation.
