Logline

Left. is a unique tri-plot trilogy. No book or movie addresses those who hid their farms from Bushwhackers after the government ordered evacuation during the American Civil War. In this trilogy courageous, humorous moon-shine-brewin' women in southwest Missouri have quite a time hiding from Callie and her Bushwhacking band during the American Civil War. Thoughts of Pearl, the city girl left to hide the farm, Carl, a naive newlywed farmer, mistakenly finds himself kidnapped by Bushwhackers, Lemuel, a young black man, who joins the 1st Kansas colored infantry, and reclusive Esther, who finds her courage in more than one life or death circumstance, are in italics. Eight other colorful characters, two Osage Indians, add much to the plot. Though the first book is a complete tale, The Bamboozlers and Turn About continue the saga of these ten brave, middle-aged souls just trying to survive the war.
