There is Denis Papin who has been released from jail for a child-related crime and Judith, whose daughter has disappeared in a supermarket.

Karine Vivier is a French writer who currently lives in the United States. She has published several short stories in French-language magazines and has received the Jury prize for some of them. "Broken humanity" is her first novel. It has been translated into English by Kirsty Olivant and has received a warm welcome since its publication.
