Development Pitch
The visual style will be energetic, cinematic and bold. The framing will be daring; the cinematography constantly on the move utilizing the walk–and–talk technique to create a dynamic feel for the rhythmic, snappy, intellectual banter. Even though the political parties involved are never mentioned by name, “Liberal Democrat”, “Conservative Republican”, “Independent”, the context makes clear which is which. Each group is portrayed in equally unflattering terms, being shown as incompetent, accident–prone and plagued with internal power struggles. The university media and general student population are portrayed as aggressive and self–centered, often asking awkward questions, promoting ill– informed divisive stories through various social media outlets, and otherwise being generally harsh. The soundtrack should feel timeless. Classic songs will only come from sources such as radios, Spotify playlists and TVs; a majority of the music will be original, which I imagine as a fresh, blend of Hip–Hop, Punk Rock, R&B, and Pop.
