I was born and raised in Newcastle North East of England. When I was 27 I had my own adventure and move to North Vancouver, Canada. I soon developed a love for the outdoors especially trail running and hiking in particular. My running adventures have taken me to some magical places in the world with races in the Sahara Desert, Rockies Mountains, and the French and Italian Alps as well as local trail races. My path has never been a straight and narrow one. I have an inquisitive mind, always looking for new things to explore and learn about. My running adventures and where I live have inspired me to explore writing. In particular, a 200-mile foot race in the Italian Alps where I used many of the Ten Essentials more than once.
