Plot Summary: Other Than Honorable It's 1983. The Russian mob is on the rise in Philadelphia and seeking to expand its operations at the expense of the established Italian mafia by securing the cooperation – voluntarily or otherwise - of the ambitious Mayor of Philadelphia, Michael Collins, a decorated Vietnam Vet and rising political star. When Collins hosts a meeting of the National Democratic Committee (DNC), the Russians see an opportunity to get control over the mayor by ensnaring him in a ‘honey trap.’ Everything changes when a young woman is found dead in a crime infested section of Camden, NJ. Solving the murder requires the cooperation of three estranged friends: Mayor Collins; Daniel Fallon, now an FBI Agent; and Marco DeSantis, a quiet South Philadelphia businessman who is also Vietnam Vet albeit with a tarnished military record. A local TV reporter, who is also the mayor’s lover, decides to make sure the dead girl is not forgotten. Solving the murder requires the former friends to come together again and work with the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Philadelphia and Camden police amid a violent turf war between the Russian and Italian mafias and political in-fighting at local and national levels. The Russian mob is led by the young, vicious criminal Alexi Sadovic and his twin sister Natasha, who had fallen in love with Collins as teenager. Natasha is a world-renowned a lawyer specializing in international trade agreements. Besides her beauty, she is also an accomplished, covert assassin. To fulfill a promise unconnected to the murder investigation, DeMarco reluctantly requests the help of Don Pate, the city’s top Italian Mafia chieftain, who served as the best man at his parent’s wedding. The results of this contact backfire in expected ways. Several romantic relationships, central to the story, emerge as the various subplots unfold. A mentally limited adult child holds the key piece of evidence without realizing it.

Name: Marco DeSantis is a quiet business man running an olive oil imprtation business. He was a U.S. Marine medic in Vietnam who was unjustly given an "other than honorable" discharge for allegedly selling U.S. Medical supplies underground in Vietnam. He retuns to Philadelphia in disgrace. Eventually, his two closest boyfriends, including Mayor Collins, to help solve a homocide. In a separate subpart of the story, DeSantis has to ask for help from the primary Don of the Italian mafia on a personal matter. Eventually, the two subplots come together as DeSAntis tries to maintain his pesonal code of honor in a world twisted by politics and murder. The book very much resebles the movie "The Departed."
