When Johnny Alymo, the godson of the most notorious NJ mob boss Don Alymo, is appointed to take over the family business, Johnny must decide between following his dream or not disappointing his godfather. Don Alymo's under bosses feel betrayed and try to undermine Johnny through his journey.

We see Johnny as a young boy playing baseball in the front yard with his father and uncle as his mother looks on. Johnny's mother and father are gunned down by a rival mob family. As Johnny's father is dying, he makes his brother promise that his will take care of Johnny and mentor him.

Johnny outsmarts the under bosses and not only succeeds as a mobster, but he is also successful in capturing his dream all while falling in love with the girl of his dreams.

Jersey Don is the story about Johnny Alymo, the godson of the most notorious New Jersey mob boss, Don Alymo of the Alymo crime family. As Don Alymo's health begins to fade, he insists Johnny to take over the family business which he promised his late brother (and Johnny's father) when Johnny's father was whacked. Johnny has a different career path for himself. Johnny wants to be the next Song Parody King. He enters the first ever Kaoroke Song Parody Contest in which the winner lands a recording contract. Johnny is torn between following his dream and not disappointing his Godfather. And to make matters worse, Don Alymo has called upon his two under bosses Vinny the Plecenta and Jimmy Peanuts to mentor Johnny. The news of Johnny being named Don Alymo's successor does not go over well with Vinny and Jimmy. They feel betrayed by Don Alymo for not naming one of them as his successor. After all they have been with the Alymo crime familly for many many years. They also believe that Johnny isn't smart enough to run the mob so Vinny devises a sinister plan to set Johnny up to fail so Don Alymo has no choice but to name Vinny or Jimmy his successor. But every situation they throw at Johnny, Johnny hits a home run. Johnny powers through trying to win a recording contract while training to be a mobster. "Jersey Don" by John Kerner John Kerner was born and and raised in northern New Jersey. He is married and has three children and has recently retired from a successful law enforcement career. During his law enforcement career, John was the evidence/property custodian, Megan's Law liasion and a crisis negotiator. John retired as a detective/lieutenant. John has been writing songs, short films and scripts for over twenty five years and now that he is retired, he is following his passion and dream of writing. John's script "Jersey Don" was selected as a finalist at the 2019 Hoboken International Film Festival. John has also just completed his memior which spans his law enforcement career.
