Short Summary

The mother of grown triplets stuns Dr. Eric Darcy by claiming a fourth baby, a quadruplet, was stolen from her at birth, years ago. When someone murders her, Eric believes the police are dismissing a vital clue. The young, widowed doctor partners with his crusty, PI sister-in-law to investigate.

As crimes multiply, Eric and his sister-in-law struggle to unravel a trail of clues. Finally he tracks down the missing daughter, but discovers that he’s placed himself and a family member right in the killer’s cross-hairs. Only a last-minute struggle short-circuits another murder.
