    What We Liked

    - This is a very intimate story that focuses a lot on the feelings of mystery and amazement at the sasquatches as well as on the actions. It's exciting and thrilling and heartwarming all at once.
    - As a film, this would be a thrilling adventure story with a focus on survival as well as the fantastical creatures.
    - As a television show this could work as a mockumentary series where a woman goes about exploring the wild and ends up coming upon these creatures and tries to learn more about them while keeping the documentary aspect a secret.
    - Key points: Unique; Female main character; Fast action scenes; Natural setting; Mystery

Anna is on a weekend excursion and decides to explore just a little bit further, only to find herself stranded in her car when a vicious storm washes out the road. She goes outside to investigate and sees what appears to be a tree stump growl at her. She is terrified and rushes back to her car, fearing and hoping that this might be an encounter with a mysterious species she has investigated her entire life--the sasquatch. Anna braces herself and finally decides to see the creature once and for all. She soon finds herself face to face with a female of the species and names her "Eve." Eve towers over Anna and is covered in thick fur. Anna is terrified of the creature but is unable to contain her curiosity and manages to look up and look into its eyes. Anna manages to croak out "help me" to the creature, and as if Eve understands her, she races through the forest. Anna tries to keep up but despite her physical fitness is no match for the giant creature, so soon, Eve beckons for Anna to get on her back and carries Anna piggyback style as they run through the forest until they reach a small gathering.

The stench of the sasquatches is strong and makes Anna nauseated, so she tries to eat some gum, but after chewing it for a while, Eve sticks her fingers into Anna's mouth and takes the gum, swallowing it whole. Anna has no idea what Eve's plans are for her, and considers that she might be in danger, until another sasquatch approaches--a male. The male is agitated and growls at Anna, and Anna is surprised to see Eve stand in front of her, protecting her. After the aggressive male leaves, Eve brings Anna to meet her family, including her young sasquatch daughter who is barely taller than Anna.

The young female takes an immediate liking to Anna and even teaches her its name--Meaka. After warming up to Anna, Meaka even plays a game with her and some pinecones. Anna is thirsty, but when she tries to drink water out of her water bottle, Meaka grabs it, fascinated, and breaks it. Eve pulls aside some heavy stones, revealing a freshwater spring, but refuses to share the water with Anna, who instead is forced to find her own stone and lift it herself. Anna tries to sleep outside but is woken up by the cold and worried about the exposure, so she calls out to Eve who begrudgingly takes her to their cave.

Anna fashions herself a small sleeping area away from the sasquatch family. Soon, one of the larger male sasquatches returns with a dead deer, which he, Eve, and Meaka eagerly dig into. Anna, however, is repulsed by the raw meat, even moreso when Eve tries to hand her a slab. Anna tries to be polite and bite into the carcass, but is unable to suppress her nausea and cannot consume the raw flesh. Eve and Meaka provide her with some shoots and roots and nuts instead. As the night grows cold, Anna decides to snuggle up against Eve and Meaka for body warmth, and they put their arms around her. Anna has been kicking herself for not taking a camera with her and manages to sneakily capture a few photos of Meaka on a cellphone.

The next day, Anna again encounters a male sasquatch who is angry with her, and she's confused, until Eve takes her to a grave and conveys that a human had killed her son. Anna understands why they hide from people and feels ashamed of whoever hurt the sasquatches. Suddenly, they hear helicopters, and Anna realizes that her husband, David, must have sent out a search party for her. Anna loves her husband very much but reasons to herself that he would understand if she stayed there forever as it is what she has wanted her whole life--a family. However, Eve disagrees and makes it clear that it is time for Anna to go, taking her back to the road.
