Good Southern girls follow the rules and walk down predictable paths. Jenna predictably married Paul and believed in the happily ever after. Although Jenna played by all the rules, she had no idea the tragic turns her life would take. She needed the support of her husband, his shoulder to cry on, and strong arms to hold her, but he cast an absentee ballot most of the time. Then out of the blue, Jenna crossed paths with a young woman and her life changed in ways that she never would have imagined. For too long Jenna drifted through life searching for answers to understand her desires and uncover her truths. Denial of Jenna's attraction and longing for the woman reigned supreme until one phone call changed everything.

The story is an intimate look into the life of a woman who does all that she was bred to do. She goes to college, gets married, has a family and does the best she can with what she has. The idea that people often settle for less than what they want because it helps them reach a goal is not told often. Jenna didn't find a great love of her life in her husband Paul but he afforded her the home and the family she wanted. It is a very honest view of the choice women often face in life.

I didn’t want to put the book down. The story was well written and has many interesting and entertaining moments. It is overall an inspiring story with heart.

I would watch the movie to see the courageous actions of a person going for there best life. It is a story of "you're never to old". Jenna lived a full life before her world changed and she find true love.

This could have a large fanbase. It is a story with LGBTQAI representation which is in demand. It also has a strong female lead who lived a very normal life but decided to follow the opportunity for happiness that was being presented. There are many inspirational moments of female empowerment and the power of changing your life at any age.

The story is not very original. At it's core, it is the age old story of a person realizing they want more out of life and going for it. Most of those stories deal with a heterosexual person and here it is a LGBTQ story. The premise is universal with minor changes.

Jenna stands out in her courage to leave behind a life that does not satisfy her and seek happiness. She blows up her life but is steadfast in her decision and everything works itself out.

This is an inspiring story that but not a rare gem. It's one women's life story that is very similar to many other women. The fact that she discovers her sexual orientation much later in life is not the only focus of the story but would add more depth if it were.
