After many decades, Pamelli's finally meets her true love and moves to the U.S. to be with him. Her "Paris time" and the man who was part of it become a mere "souvenir" of her youth and "I Dream of Paris" becomes a travel memoir.

Pamelli has had a very international upbringing at the American School of Brasília and Rio de Janeiro. She always dreamed of going to France, saves money for a couple of years and finally goes there in her 20's for a semester as a student at Paris' Alliance Française. There she lives the life of a typical student from overseas....With very little money and having to work as a housemaid at a French household. She then meets an older and sophisticated Frenchman (Charles) who eventually becomes her lover. She falls for him but it is not reciprocal. At the end of her stay in Paris, she finally has to leave to go back to Brazil and the fact that Charles does not ask her to stay with him breaks her heart. She goes back to her old work in Rio and a year later meets Charles again for a final encounter and trip to Morocco. He breaks her heart a second time and that's when she finally decides to put a stop, once and for all, to their relationship. In the end , she finally finds her true love with an American, in Saint Augustine, Florida.

Isabela Pamelli Martins was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She has a degree in Anthropology and History from the University of Texas and a degree in French from Alliance Française. She lives part of the year in Austin, Texas and part in Saint Augustine, Florida. She is married, childfree and has a rescued chihuahua named Kiara.
