    Accuracy of Book Profile

    The book profile is accurate.

    Draw of Story

The suspense of finding out if she will be able to recover and if so, will they rekindle their love affair.

    Possible Drawbacks

It felt as if it was going to go off the rails when she is seemingly jealous unjustly. However, this is qualified later in the story and therefore, fixes itself.

    Use of Special Effects

THE STORY DOES NOT RELY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

    Primary Hook of Story

A chance of reawakening a long lost love is an appealing notion.

    Fanbase Potential

This has such a romantic angle that it is most likely going to skew towards a primarily female audience. However, it will also serve as good date movie.

    Awards Potential

This is probably not epic enough to have awards potential.

    Envisioned Budget

    MEDIUM BUDGET

    What’s New About the Story

It is already an original story. Making the ending hopeful, but not a completely "Hollywood" style resolution makes it unique too.

    Lead Characters

The in-depth physical description makes the characters seem more real and relatable.

    Uniqueness of Story

It's hard to qualify this as a rare gem as it is, but it certainly has great potential. It's emotional and very believable.

    Possible Formats

Film - Studio, Film - Streaming, Film - Indie, TV Series - Limited Run / Mini-Series

    Analyst Recommendation

    CONSIDER

    Justification

This is definitely a sweet story with a lot of potential for adaptation. It is marketable and would be too terribly expensive to produce.

    Brief

A trauma doctor realizes that the catastrophically injured young woman in front of him is the only woman he has ever loved. As he fights to save her life, flashbacks of their relationship flood his memory and his heart.

    What We Liked

Romance, romance, romance. The story is very sweet, emotional and engaging. The suspense of learning what happened to break up the relationship and wondering if it can be rekindled keep the reader riveted.

Film: The strong character development makes this a good candidate for adaptation into a film feature. The story structure is compact enough to be translated easily to big screen.

TV: The unfolding of the relationship in flashbacks while Elise fights for her life could be made into a television miniseries.

Key points: Character driven; Musical element; Strong female lead; Romantic; Hopeful ending

    Synopsis

Elsie, is a petite young woman who lost her parents way too young. Though she was raised by her loving grandmother, Olive, her tragic past still holds her back and saps her self-confidence. The one constant in her life is her dear best friend, Marie. On a dark night just immediately after serving as Maid of Honor at Marie’s wedding, Elsie is crossing the street when she is hit by a drunk driver. As her broken body lies bloody in the street, Elsie slips out of herself and no longer feels any pain. Dr. Auggie Owens is the doctor on duty in the ER on this rainy night. A catastrophically injured Jane Doe is delivered to the hospital. It will be a miracle if he can save her. As he works to stabilize her, he notices a familiar scar and is shocked when he realizes that the critically hurt woman is Elsie McCormack, the only woman he has ever loved. He broke her heart seven years ago and now he has the chance to give her the explanation she deserves. He works tirelessly and her life is ultimately saved.

As Elsie is undergoing multiple surgeries and fighting for her life, flashbacks of their relationship narrate the story. Auggie remembers being immediately drawn to Elsie seven years ago when he sees her at a college frat party. They begin a whirlwind romance. They both share the tragic loss of their parents at a young age and it draws them even closer together. Marie and Olive have the pleasure of meeting Auggie and are both thrilled that he makes Elsie so happy. After Elsie graduates from college and Auggie finishes his residency, they plan to relocate to Nashville so Elsie can pursue a career in the music industry. The night before they are supposed to move in together, Auggie disappears without a trace. He even erases all evidence of him from her life. Elsie is devastated. Marie and Olive try to console her, but Olive passes away unexpectedly leaving Marie as the only person Elsie has left in the world. Elsie ultimately pulls herself out of her crippling depression and goes to Nashville for her music. She started out writing songs for others, but she soon becomes a recording artist, launching a career as a country music singer. Auggies reason for deserting Elsie is revealed. Auggie wasn’t awarded the job in Nashville that he hoped for. It was given to Bobbie, his friend and colleague. Bobbie was secretly in love in Auggie and she stole the job out from under him so he wouldn’t go to Nashville with Elsie. Though Auggie doesn’t want to be with Bobbie, he thinks she might be right that he is holding Elsie back, so he decided to leave her for her own good. Since the way in which he did it was so cruel that he wants to be able to give her the explanation.

After Elsie is released from the hospital, she still has a long road to recovery. She has no memory of Auggie when he visits her at her home. She knows him only as the doctor who saved her life. He leaves her his contact information just in case she ever wants to be in touch with him. After he leaves, memories of their romance begin to flood back to her. She realizes that the reason they were brought together in the first place was so that they could fulfill this destiny.
