Development Pitch

This story is based on the legendary Honey Island Swamp Monster. Arty's grandfather had an encounter with the mysterious Swamp Monster and poured a plaster casting of its track that he gave to Arty before he died. Arty plans to take the plaster track to Show & Tell, but Mikey, whose ruthless Dad, Bill Thomas, owns the local swamp tour company, trips Arty on the bus and claims his grandfather’s sighting was a publicity stunt. Then Arty learns that Bill Thomas plans to buy his grandfather's private island at the tax sale to build vacation cabins. So, Arty and his best friends sneak across the river to his grandfather's private island in search of new evidence to prove it was not a hoax. They soon find themselves in a hairy situation and Arty’s Mom, Lana, teams up with Nile, from CZI that stands for Cryptozoology Investigations, to help her find her son and his friends. Arty’s plans to expose the legendary Honey Island Swamp Monster changes when he has an encounter of his own.

About The Author

I am from Southern Louisiana and grew up in Honey Island Swamp. I have written several published books about the legendary Honey Island Swamp Monster because it was my grandfather, the first eye-witness to report a sighting and appear on "In Search Of" after he poured plaster castings of unusual tracks. I have appeared on many TV shows to talk about the Honey Island Swamp Monster. That is what inspired this book "Legend of Honey Island Swamp." So, it is somewhat based on a true story. I have also written other published books in different genres that include, "Swamp Cooking with the River People" and "He Speaks Cajun." I have a several children's books, "How to Trap a Swamp Monster" and "The Little Bayou Mermaid." My passion is writing movie screenplays and this novel was written as a movie script first. I have written about ten screenplays that have not been shopped around yet. Hopefully, this platform on Taleflick will lead to an opportunity to becoming a successful writer.
