Accuracy of Book Profile
Yes, the book profile accurately reflects the book. It could have more details as it is a vague overview of the show.
Draw of Story
The story explores Lane's reality change drastically. She is a 6 year old and her parents turn on her viscously. She is defiant and spoiled but uses that to survive. It is a heartbreaking scenario to see unfold especially when she realizes she is completely alone after her mother closes her out. The following years of her childhood are spent isolated and treated as a servant in her parents house.
Possible Drawbacks
Lane goes through many terrible events that can be hard to stomach. The overall tone of the story is depressing and all this happens to someone so young. There is little hope throughout the story which is difficult to continue reading. Even when there is a resolution of who raped Lane and her being brought in, she is locked up.
Use of Special Effects
THE STORY DOES NOT RELY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS
Primary Hook of Story
The hook is that Lane is on the run from the law but the truth behind her actions are slowly coming to light. The 17 year old ran from home after years of abuse and neglect and a brutal rape at the hands of an unknown man. Her actions stem from fear. I would watch the movie for the drama of Lane's disappearance. It is also an inspiring story about perseverance in the face of life's harshness.
Fanbase Potential
This could have a decent sized fanbase but would lose some audience interest with the amount of physical abuse portrayed. The story is very heavy with abuse and rape which can be triggering and overall difficult to watch.
Awards Potential
This could have award potential for performances. Lane's character goes through a plethora of harsh circumstances. She is a strong female character. The subject of rape is given proper care which is refreshing and adds complexity to the character. There are many meaty roles for actors here, filled with complex characters that would gain awards buzz.

What’s New About the Story
The story is original because of the circumstances that face Lane. Her "father" , Morgan, forces her into a subservient role, beating her constantly through the years. Her mother turns her back on her to help her husband even with her own abuse, suspecting that Morgan killed her parents for their land. There is a complex network of people who have failed Lane in her life. The fact that she was raped and then is on the run from the law is also unique.
Lead Characters
The lead character stands out because of her desperate will to survive. She spent her childhood living in the shadows, away from her parents. Her world is shattered when she is raped which leads her to commit a series of crimes. The police are after her but she continues to survive and move forward. She is a strong female character.
Uniqueness of Story
This is a interesting and emotional story that is unique. There are great characters, difficult moments and it has a satisfying resolution. Overall, it is a solid story that would be loved by audiences.
