Upon his father’s death, Walter III is captivated by his father's faithfulness to Compton and embraces his legacy. He runs for his father’s seat and wins. Thrown into the dark world of politics as the youngest mayor in Compton’s history at age 33, Walter is enticed by John Macardican, a so-called friend of Walter’s father, to accept bribes to vote for his waste-to-energy plant. After being elected to Congress and then charged by the federal government with receiving bribes when he was mayor, Walter defends the charges against him, but loses his case. His conviction leads him to a deeper insight about his life, his choices and their consequences, and a surprising new path.

A native of Compton, California, in the ‘80s Walter Tucker III attended Georgetown Law Center in Washington D.C. and began writing and producing stage plays and musicals. After returning to L.A. and becoming a Christian in 1983, Walter wrote and produced many Gospel albums. After years of practicing law and serving as the mayor and congressman from Compton, Walter became a pastor in Chicago in 2003. In 2012, Walter and his wife, Robin, returned to Los Angeles and founded Truth and Love Christian Church where he has produced several contemporary Christian stage plays. Walter, who is passionate about his faith, is the author of the highly acclaimed autobiography, From Compton To Congress. Now he has written screenplays such as From Compton To Congress and The Christmas Sermon, which he believes will entertain, educate, and inspire many.
