How I Took a Bartending Course and Traveled for Seventeen Years
Submision Type
book
Logline
My recount of all the crazy things I did for seventeen straight years while working in the hospitality industry living pretty much out of a suitcase. It is an adventure of spontaneous decisions that will keep the reader wanting to go to the next chapter to see what comes next.

Short Summary
My introduction starts off with me teaching a bartending course the same way I learned over twenty years earlier. Chronologically I go through how I ended up taking a bartending course when I had no idea what I wanted to do. From that moment on I go through the places I worked and places I lived.

Accuracy of Book Profile
Yes, the profile does depict the book.
Draw of Story
The main character led an interesting life.
Possible Drawbacks
There isn't really a plot or fully developed narrative. Lead and supporting characters have no arc.
Use of Special Effects
THE STORY DOES NOT RELY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS
Primary Hook of Story
Young adult partying/antics. Follow a young man on a journey around the world as he makes drinks, friends and adventure.
Fanbase Potential
I don't think so. It may attract an audience but it's not a "built-in" fanbase.
Awards Potential
Not that kind of project
Envisioned Budget
LOW BUDGET

What’s New About the Story
The story is interesting to read. It could probably use more comedy.
Lead Characters
The willingness to go where the winds blow is cool.
Uniqueness of Story
It's interesting but it would need to be fictionalized and more comedy and romance in order to make it a visual medium project.
Possible Formats
TV Series - Cable, TV Series - Network, TV Series - Limited Run / Mini-Series, TV Series - Streaming
Analyst Recommendation
WORK IN PROGRESS
Justification
While the story has many positive points, it has room for improvement (see possible paths below). If you can't change the story at this point, my suggestion is using your notes as a guide to highlight the best aspects of it when taking the next steps, either putting a pitch page together, a treatment, or a presentation.
Tips for Improvement
A story with a beginning, middle, and end. A lead character that goes through some kind of evolution. Supporting characters that have a larger role. Funnier jokes and situations. Maybe taking these adventures to fiction and turning each one into a story with a plot and an outcome as part of a TV series, it could work as a tv series. Perhaps the writer could host a travelogue about the best bars in the world, but I can not figure out how to make this work in a visual medium by itself.
