Brief

Three FBI agents are assigned to transport a terrorist. Halfway there, they are surrounded by thugs who rescue the terrorist and drop the three at an abandoned gas station. The three go through interrogation at the FBI, are detached from the case, and warned that a meteor shower is causing problems worldwide. The three agents start to distrust some of the information received and decide to investigate on their own. They intercept the terrorist and some senators involved in the case, and because of that, they earn their jobs back.

Accuracy of Book Profile

It is accurate, but it could be improved. The author merged the characteristics of the three main characters in a single spot. We could better understand these characters if he divided the three into unique spaces with individual descriptions. The author could also use the Development pitch section to tell us more about the series and the project itself.

Draw of Story

The sun did not arise in the morning, and the clocks stopped working. It is a powerful opening that excites our curiosity for what is coming.

Possible Drawbacks

The terrorist plot sounds childish. While being professionals trained to solve criminal dilemmas, the three agents look like confused teenagers afraid of being murdered. Obviously, they are human beings and can be frightened, but it doesn't sound realistic since they intercept the terrorist and get into a shootout in another scene.

Use of Special Effects

THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

Primary Hook of Story

A meteor shower is slowing Earth's rotation, while a terrorist is about to wipe out a mass community. There are two distinct types of conflicts that bring enough material for an entertaining action and a natural catastrophe movie.

Fanbase Potential

Action fans may like the story because it mixes two solid elements of the genre: terrorists being chased by the FBI and a natural disaster about to destroy the Earth. These are two plots that run in parallel and give us a sense of imminent danger that increases the tension. So, the narrative has the potential to attract an audience, but it needs a lot of development to become marketable.

Awards Potential

It could have some potential for Awards if the narrative could evidence the most dramatic human side. A natural catastrophe threatens the planet while the agents continue to search for the terrorist group. Perhaps, if the author shows these men's frustration in being in the field, far from their families at such a delicate moment for humanity, it would raise this questioning on what really matters. They all love their jobs, but at a time like this, what is the priority? Being with the family in the face of a catastrophe or capturing a dangerous gang that threatens the whole population. It would bring an interesting reflection that could improve the drama.

Envisioned Budget

LARGE BUDGET

ARMAGEDDON: SCIENTISTS NEED TO STOP A METEOR THAT IS COMING TOWARDS EARTH AND THREATENS LIFE ON THE PLANET. MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: A GROUP OF AGENTS FALLS INTO A TRAP, ETHAN HUNT DECIDES TO ACT ON HIS OWN AND FIND OUT WHO THE ENEMY IS

What’s New About the Story

The mixture of imminent natural disaster with a virus being spread by terrorists is something unusual. I believe the meteor plot is somewhat ignored throughout the script. It could be a good scenario for a terrorist hunt. A powerful ticking clock.

Lead Characters

Nothing really. The three agents are very alike and act very similarly. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish who is speaking.

Uniqueness of Story

Not a rare gem. It can definitely be improved, and end up being the base for a more complex film/ series, but the narrative and plots are not unique enough to be a rare gem.

TV Series - Cable, TV Series - Limited Run / Mini-Series, TV Series - Streaming, TV Series - Network

Analyst Recommendation

WORK IN PROGRESS

Justification

The characters are all very similar. The three of them have wives and a single child, and the scenes of interaction with the family always come in sequences of three where the actions are very similar, almost twins. I don't think that kind of similarity helps a group that will work together. Each of them must have their own characteristics, their own lifestyles. They should be complementary, not equal. It doesn't make much sense to have three agents if the three look the same. The narrative structure also needs an upgrade. The author has two good plots on hands but develops them without much passion. The meteor plot is overlooked most of the time, and people just don't seem to care about the fact that a meteor shower is slowing the planet's rotation. Everyone's biggest concern is the terrorist. It sounds not realistic. The agents' wives act very likewise, the children as well, and the supervisor Blavat himself seems little developed. So the characters certainly need improvements.

Tips for Improvement

The idea of mixing two massive catastrophes occurring simultaneously is a good one because when one loses strength or becomes tiresome, the other comes in to hold the tension. These two parallel plots should be complementary, one serving as a background, a ticking clock for the other. However, I miss a more profound development in the meteor's story. I also think that the human element should be more relevant in the series. An entire population is at risk because of a terrorist who is spreading a lethal virus on money bills. Many have already died, and many are about to die. Also, the meteor shower endangers human existence because it slowed the rotation of the planet. We are facing two catastrophes in which the humans can be massively wiped out, but no one seems to be moved or feel anything about it. These films of great disasters demand a more significant dramatic load that thrills us and shows us the importance of global unity for the resolution of a single issue: to survive. Without emotion, drama, internal conflicts, the film becomes a collection of action scenes. The three agents almost died in the field, and when they call their wives to tell them what happened, they don't seem to feel anything about it. Yes, they are FBI agents, yes, these women are used to their husbands' exposure, but it is always shocking to know that a loved one has almost been killed. We need more emotion. The meteor plot appears very briefly, just as a background. The terrorist plot could be better structured. Several subplots have grown vague. It's okay that it is a series pilot, and that we will possibly have answers in the future. Still, we could go to the second episode with more answers, more drama, more internal conflicts, or we will risk losing the audience along the way.
