What We Liked
The Immortal Harvest is a sci-fi action thriller with a unique premise that digs into alternate
dimensions, extra-terrestrial life and the nature of existence itself. The story explores each of these
notions through the eyes of a diverse, relatable and interesting cross-section of characters, each
damaged or suffering from the failures and heartbreaks of their past. It addresses the capacity of the
human mind to heal itself and the undeniable power of compassion. It is action-packed,
thought-provoking and emotional. In this respect, it is ripe material for a highly grounded, yet elevated
genre adaptation, with franchise potential.
Film: The Immortal Harvest would make a compelling science fiction movie in the vein of Looper, The
Terminator or Midnight Special, as the story essentially follows a mother and son on the run from
otherworldly foes. Though we have seen this premise before, this story weaves the idea of multiple
dimensions, wormholes and extra-terrestrial organ harvesting into a uniquely compelling plot.
TV: The story takes place between two dimensions, creating a world that is incredibly rich, textured
and open to exploration. Despite being an action-driven science-fiction saga that is well-paced, it is
filled with real-world characters each of whom serve as a compelling canvas for actors to explore.
The fact that the story has the capacity to connect to contemporary concerns makes it potentially
provocative material for an audience.
Synopsis
Two Earths in Parallel universes. On the Earth parallel to ours, humanity is dying because of their own
hubris. Due to alien intervention, they are technologically superior and engineer a machine called the
Traverser to bridge the gap between the two worlds in order to steal vital organs they need to save
themselves.
Sylvan Peters, a young mother suffering under an abusive stepfather is forced onto the streets with
her son, Justen. After they are taken in by a drug-addicted prostitute and Justen is neglected by his
mother, he witnesses the murder of Senator Trent Baker by a menacing assassin named Edward
Stringer; a soldier from the alternate dimension.
Special Agent Derek Baxter of the FBI is appointed to investigate the death of the senator and
discovers that Justen may be the only witness of the crime. As he employs a team of young agents to
find the boy, they uncover a connection between the murder and a strange organization called
Mundus Nova, run by the enigmatic Susan Smythe, another citizen of the parallel universe. Her
mandate is to harvest the organs of the city’s homeless. Mundus Nova tasks the relentless Stringer
with hunting down and killing Justen.
When Sylvan and Justen are abducted from the streets, Baxter and his team of FBI agents race the
clock to find the boy. In the parallel universe, Justen’s biological father Michael is alerted to the
disappearance of his son. Michael is a genetically-engineered human created through the fusion of
alien and human DNA for the sake of learning the secrets to inter-dimensional travel. Baxter’s efforts
to save Justen and his mother are usurped by the unstoppable Stringer, who comes close to killing
them all. But the killer draws Justen’s wrath, resulting in the discovery of telekinetic abilities that he’s
able to use as a weapon. When the boy reunites with his long-lost father, a final sacrifice is required.
Michael gives his own life to save his son and the entire human world, completely destroying the
traverser along with Smythe and Stringer. Justen is left as the only one with a link to the alternate
universe.
