Accuracy of Book Profile
It is accurate.
Draw of Story
The fact that it’s a story that takes place in a fantasy land, with echoes of classics like The Lord of the Rings.
Possible Drawbacks
Amid so many characters, names of things, and places, there is a lack of a more objective thread that guides us in this new world of adventures and maintains interest throughout such an extensive narrative.
Use of Special Effects
THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS
Primary Hook of Story
The leading hook is an epic adventure in a classic style of good versus evil, with narratives full of battles, adventures, great dangers, and romances.
Fanbase Potential
There is great potential for building a large and loyal fanbase, especially among fantasy fans. However, for an adaptation to be successful, the story needs to be more focused and centered on a great threat, maybe even with fewer characters, but that are more and better developed to the point of identifying the characteristics of each one well.
Awards Potential
There is excellent potential for building a large and loyal fanbase, especially among fantasy fans. However, for an adaptation to be successful, the story needs to be more focused and centered on a significant threat, maybe even with fewer characters, but more and better developed so the public can identify the characteristics of each one.
Envisioned Budget
LARGE BUDGET
Similar Films/TV Series
THE LORD OF THE RINGS - JUST LIKE THE FIRST PART OF TOLKIEN’S STORY, THE HEROES SET OUT IN AN ENTOURAGE OF REMARKABLE PEOPLE TO SAVE THE WORLD FROM A GREAT EVIL. GAME OF THRONES - ALSO A FANTASY AND COMPLEX BATTLE BETWEEN KINGDOMS, FULL OF BETRAYALS AND DUBIOUS CHARACTERS.
What’s New About the Story
The creation of legends such as the crystals that guard evil spirits is original to a certain extent. However, the characters and the plot are too similar to other narratives about fantasy journeys. It would be essential to bring more unique aspects that differentiate the book from thousands of others in the same genre.
Lead Characters
The lead character is an honorable, courageous, and justice-loving monarch who, while keeping a great secret, always tries to do the best he can to help others.
Uniqueness of Story
It’s not a rare gem. As a rather extensive book, there is a lack of further explanation on various aspects of the plot. In addition, the narrative ends up being exaggeratedly confusing due to an infinity of names and expressions that the public is not used to and that do not receive the proper attention from the author.
Possible Formats
Film: Studio TV Series: Cable, Limited Run / Mini-Series, Streaming
Analyst Recommendation
WORK IN PROGRESS
Justification
The book is a work in progress because, perhaps due to its enormous size and the excess of plots that the author had to deal with, the narrative becomes excessively confusing. Although the universe created here is very developed, with its own rules and characteristics, much remains to be explained for us to understand the whole. Villains, for example, are a problem. There are an awful lot of them, but we don’t really know what differentiates one from the other, which one is more threatening or how they work together. This undermines the strength of this dark threat and makes the clashes between good and evil less compelling than they could be. Despite being a story with a lot of content, it lacks special attention to details that could make people fall in love with this fantasy universe.
Tips for Improvement
Perhaps one of the best things to do is apply the concept of less is more, which doesn’t necessarily mean reducing the size or scope of this epic narrative. On the contrary, fans of the genre often like it. One can reduce the number of characters, make references to fewer entities and events from the past, and, instead, occupy the space that remains by delving into their personalities and histories. This is a crucial part of getting the audience involved with the plot. The dialogues are another aspect that could be worked on better. The problem is that it takes up a lot of space with unnecessary conversations and lines precisely when the plot should be moving forward at full speed. The very positive point is that most of the lines are written in an archaic way, which is adequate but also not impossible to understand. The story works as a fantastic tale about good versus evil, but in the middle of the way, it is necessary to base it all on a cohesive universe, in which we want to root for these heroes and hate the villains. It would be best if you felt better about how this world is built, what are the aspirations and thoughts of the main characters and the relationship between them. For this, the book must undergo extensive revisions and rewritings to be ready for the challenge of an audiovisual adaptation, whether for TV or cinema.
Brief
Evil spirits begin to dominate a previously peaceful world. What could the discovery of six enchanted crystals have to do with it? An entourage made up of kings and heroes sets out on a journey full of dangers and adventures to discover the truth behind these mysterious events. But will they have the courage and strength to save the world from the dark future that is coming?
What We Liked
Full of twists, dubious characters, and fantastic battles, The Myriad brings the audience an adventure in the mold of great epics like The Lord of the Rings. With charismatic heroes, terrifying villains, and a plot that leaves the audience always waiting for more, the book holds excellent promises for a narrative of significant proportions, with dialogues that accentuate the depth and complexity of this vast range of characters.
Film: On the big screen, the special effects and the sheer scale of the sets, the scenes, and this fantastic world as a whole will be presented in all the necessary scale. Although cinema has a more restricted duration, requiring more extensive adaptations to the narrative, the silver screen can give the viewer the feeling of living an epic narrative like this in the form and size he should.
TV: Due to its epic nature and the sheer size and scale of the story, this would make an excellent addition to the fantasy series canon. Just as plots from the Lord of the Rings universe have been adapted for the small screen, the TV format is excellent for ensuring that a narrative like this is presented as it should, without leaving out essential details of the story.
Key points:
- Epic scale
- Dubious and complex characters
- Elaborate action scenes and battles
- A compelling plot filled with twists
- Creation of a whole new fantastic world
Synopsis
An evil spirit attacks Tharden, the realm of king Ethwin. King Dalred, of Haven-neth, Queen Perlain, and her daughter, Princess Ryrena, arrive for a council to discuss the issue. Kydon, the River King, tells everyone how he got five precious power crystals in the tower of Mono Goth, releasing evil spirits in the world.
The entourage leaves on a journey, and prince Hath stays in command of Tharden. The group meets wizard Bantebal, who joins their journey. After that, they find all the inhabitants of Athfar dead. A man called Wistker appears guarding the missing sixth crystal. To the entourage, Wistker tells about the origin of the world, the creation of good and evil gods, and the six evil entities trapped in the tower of Mono Goth, to which the six crystals correspond.
Wistker talks about the Myriad prophecy, a journey to save all men from Third Earth, which they are fulfilling. They must defeat Scarmur the Necromancer and reassemble the crystals to do so.
Finally, the entourage leaves with Wistkel. After casting a series of illusions, the Night Draul spirit attacks them, generating deaths and injuries. King Kydon, his son Kyran and their captain Torcus are lost in the river, as the evil entity is also mortally wounded. Meanwhile, in Tharden, Hath is captured by the usurper Skerl Hemlock.
The entourage arrives at the Mono Goth tower. Later, during Wistkel’s farewells, the group is attacked by evil forces and Wistkel manages to capture the Father of Shadows. The captive’s prophecy shows that Torcus and Kyran are still alive and that there is a dark future ahead for all of them. They free the shadowy prisoner, flee and their journeys finally separate.
