What We Liked
The uniqueness of an erotic epic fantasy needs to be commended. In a thick plot, with lots of twists, this adventure has everything mature audiences enjoy.
Film: Ka-Ron and Jatel's love story is very unique, hot, and filled with challenges that would keep a feature film interesting from beginning to end. The setting and characters have great visual appeal, and a well-done script could capture the essence of the book and turn it into a strong movie.
TV: This erotic epic adventure would be a great mature TV show. Ka-Ron's journey has many stops and challenges that would benefit from having time to develop. The many characters surrounding the knight have arcs of their own and in multiple episodes, they could all be explored. The many hooks left in the book would allow the series to have multiple seasons, with the potential of attracting a large fanbase.
Key points: The genre: epic, erotic fantasy; Incredible settings: dragon's belly, gothic castle etc.; Good ensemble of characters; Comedic elements; Message: true love always wins.
Synopsis
Ka-Ron, the strongest, deadliest, and most handsome knight in the whole kingdom of Idoshia returns home from the war against the evil Xows. He finds Kym, his childhood friend and the daughter of a powerful Wicca Master, with whom he sleeps. Kym confesses her love for him, but Ka-Ron tells her he can't indulge himself with relationships as his steadfast commitment is to be a knight. He leaves upset Kym, heading toward a King's feast in his honor, but two Xow bandits attack him and his horse Echoheart on the way. Ka-Ron fights the Xows, killing one and letting the second one go as an act of mercy. He heads again to the palace but ends up encompassed by a strange wind—it makes him think of revenge and Kym, but he convinces himself it's not true and moves forward. Inside her hut, Kym drinks Nuvonean Hemlock, sure it will bring back her love: Ka-Ron. But it doesn't, and darkness prevails.
Kai, Kym's mother, and her horse Raven happily return to Idoshia, victorious on her endeavor to achieve peace in Hispania's kingdom. But when she arrives, both she and Raven smell death in the air; when she gets home, she finds Kym dead, next to parchment with words about unrequited love and the mention of Ka-Ron's name. After performing all the Idoshian rituals for Kym's good passing, Kai leaves her house searching for Ka-Ron and her revenge.
Through Jatel, Ka-Ron's squire, Kai finds out that he successfully killed a lion to amuse the king. She waits for him to return, and when he sees her, he confesses his mistake with Kym, and she informs him that Kym has died. Kai cuts off some of his hair and performs a revenge spell; Ka-Ron threatens to stop her with violence, but she's faster and makes him pass out. When Ka-Ron wakes up, she finds himself to be a woman who cannot control her sexual impulses, and with the "mindset" of a male, this terrifies Ka-Ron. Jatel shows up, and they are mutually attracted to each other, even though Ka-Ron says she is, in fact, his master. Laughing, Kai informs the two they are bound together in a curse, and the two are inevitably attracted to each other. Ka-Ron begs Kai to withdraw the spell, and she tells them to find her and disappears. Ka-Ron and Jatel head off on their quest.
Their first stop is a temple, where Ka-Ron enters to ask the high priest for help, but her cursed impulses take over, and they have sex. (Note: Sex is considered a 'holy/sacred" act by the clergy of this world). Jatel witnesses the scene, and the cleric informs them their passionate feelings for each other are part of the curse and that Kai has traveled to the Fire Mountains located on the other end of the Nown World. Jatel looks for a ship at the harbor while Ka-Ron goes to the bathroom, where she runs into Kai; frustrated with her mistreated looks, Kai makes Ka-Ron even more beautiful and lustful. After acquiring the ship, Jatel finds Ka-Ron alone – more beautiful and unable to control himself. They fall even more deeply in love.
The next day, they leave their horses in a stable and go for the Fire Mountains. Believing to be deeply in love, they question what will happen once they find Kai and reverse the spell. Meanwhile, their ship ends up attacked by a Xow Slaver Captain. As the Xows invade the ship, they seem to be winning the battle. Still, Jatel and Ka-Ron show up, and Ka-Ron summons her "knowledge" of feminine attack strategies she once taught the Queen of Idoshia, fighting and killing the Xow Captain, leading their way to a victory. During the battle, Jatel runs to retrieve Ka-Ron's sword, encounters Kai, and she transforms him into a well-built man, a knight. Upon seeing him, Ka-Ron can't help her desires. But, then, the ship gets attacked and sunk by a dragon named Tork; Ka-Ron and Jatel are caught in the middle of having sex and can't disconnect from each other, surviving only by floating upon a door. When the dragon sees them, they ask for help to find privacy, and Tork swallows them alive.
This horrific experience stuck together, Jatel and Ka-Ron wake up to find there's a tiny universe inside Tork's belly where another wizard, Keeth, lives. They tell him their story, and he offers to help. However, the spell goes wrong, and Keeth turns Jatel partially into a woman. Keeth informs them the "magic" will revert in the morning, but in the meantime, Ka-Ron and Jatel make love. The next day, Keeth tells them his plan to escape on a ship he had built, named the "Argo," by putting fire into the dragon's belly; Jatel and Ka-Ron question the plan but agree to partake in it. Their escape is a success, except the ship heads to crash into the ground once it leaves the dragon's mouth. Keeth turns on engines, and the ship "transforms" into a flying vessel; the trio, then, heads for the Fire Mountains.
Ka-Ron and Jatel, more in love than ever, stay in their cabin, exploring the "possibilities" of their passion, but Keeth eventually needs Jatel's help. When alone, Ka-Ron is visited by Kai, who forces Ka-Ron to become more feminine by giving her the curse of a menstrual cycle. When Jatel and Keeth find that out, they're both become comically disgusted. Suddenly, worries of motherhood come to their minds. In love with Jatel, Ka-Ron considers spending the rest of her life as a woman—but her duty as a knight changes her mind. When they wake up, they find Ka-Ron at least six months pregnant. Jatel gets nervous, and Keeth offers to help them get rid of the child, but Ka-Ron decides that she will keep it. She tries to be mad at Kai but can't; the truth is, as a man, she could not have children, the main "hidden" reason she could not love Kym. But now she was about to become a mother!
Jatel and Ka-Ron struggle to wrap their minds around being parents; the fear of parenthood is as intense as their growing love for each other. They land in Cibola to make repairs on the ship, and there they meet Dorian and Rohan, a Dwarf and an Elf on a quest of their own. They learn a vampire has taken over the town of Cibola. Jatel joins Dorian and Rohan in venturing through the city, and Jatel ends up attacked by a female vampire. The Elf and Dwarf take Jatel and the vampire, Molly, back to the ship, where Keeth does everything he can to help him; Jatel survives. Now free of evil, Molly shares her story about meeting the vampire who made her - Count Voslow. Ka-Ron, who passed out of fear of losing Jatel, wakes up the next morning and attacks Molly, but can't kill her upon her surrender. Then, her water breaks. As Ka-Ron gives birth, Count Voslow's undead approaches the ship; they defeat the hoard of vampires, and Ka-Ron gives birth to a baby boy she names En-Don, after Jatel's father. Jatel recovers, but at the imminent threat of becoming a vampire, the group decides to change their course. They head toward Mull Garden castle to find and kill Count Voslow and keep Jatel from becoming an undead creature.
Ka-Ron breastfeeds En-Don when, once more, Kai appears. Upon seeing Ka-Ron's happiness and love, she makes her curse worse: Ka-Ron cannot separate En-Don from her breast, and the baby feeds until his mother passes out. When she wakes up, she finds En-Don to be a wholly grown man and an excellent warrior. At his castle, Count Voslow finds out Molly is missing and sees the ship approaching. In the ship, Jatel begins his transformation and gets comfort from Molly, who helps him transition well. The team gets ready to attack, with En-Don proving to have inherited his mother's fighting abilities. The group decides to venture inside the castle, leaving En-Don behind with Molly. They are greeted by Count Voslow, who invites them all to dinner and proposes a blood-less solution: he will cure Jatel if Ka-Ron agrees to have his child. Jatel denies the offer, but, at night, Voslow curses Jatel to sleep and rapes Ka-Ron. The whole group tries to help, but Ka-Ron kills Voslow, releasing Jatel from his undead destiny. Back on the ship, Molly seduces En-Don, and they have sex until interrupted by a hungry vampire, whom, together, they kill. Molly, too, finds herself free from being a vampire after Voslow's death. Kai tries to attack the group, but Keeth manages to make her go away. The group goes back to the ship and finds Molly and En-Don in bed. Jatel convinces Ka-Ron to accept their son's love. Who are they to stop the magic of love?
When En-Don wakes up the next day, he's an older man—to everyone's despair. But Dorian knows of a cure, and they head for The Fountain of Cures, within an ancient underwater dwarfish city, where En-Don, to be cured, will have to face a demon called Baphomet. Because this will take them away from the original quest, Ka-Ron decides she's willing to risk the cure of her gender-reversal to save her son. Meanwhile, Rohan wonders why Dorian stares at him so much and what's going on with the dwarf. They stop at a town to get supplies for their journey, and Rohan discovers that Dorian, the dwarf, is a woman in disguise. They find themselves in love.
Back on their way, Keeth is visited by Kai but manages to stop her attack. They arrive at their destination, and they plan to get past the demon if Ka-Ron will distract him with her beauty, while the others retrieve a cup of water to cure, now very old, En-Don. The plan works, but Baphomet denies Ka-Ron freedom to leave him, and she finds herself many months pregnant again. Cured and in his thirties, En-Don fights Baphomet and Ka-Ron gives birth to an egg, which turns out to be a gigantic dragon. As Baphomet and his ungrateful child battle, the group exists the Dwarf city, back to their ship. Rohan and Dorian can't help themselves, and their love grows.
An Elfin ship attacks the Argo; they're after Rohan, and when they burst into him having sex with Dorian, shocked, the Elfs imprison Rohan. The Elf Captain, Rolmore, turns out to be Rohan's brother and follows their father's wishes. Dorian allows Rohan to share her secret (that she is, in fact, female). She turns to her womanly form, to everyone's shock, and Rolmore takes the Elf and the Dwarf to his ship. Both ships head to their Elfin city. There, Rolmore offers Dorian the choice of escaping alone or facing death with Rohan. She states she can't leave the love of her life. However, the brothers talk and decide to go to war against their father, who has gone mad.
Meanwhile, Kai – who had been planning even bigger revenge against Ka-Ron – is visited by Kym's spirit, who begs her to release Ka-Ron, who was never at fault. Kai agrees. Aware of Rohan and Rolmore's plans, Keeth builds up his ship to attack the elfin kingdom.
Rohan's father, Rakamore, actually not mad but under the influence of a creature named a "Lurker," prepares to see his sons. Dorian is the only one who can see the Lurker controlling the king, and aware of that, the Lurker makes the king order Rolmore to kill her. And then, the Argo attacks, and a battle begins. The Elfs destroy the Argo's canons, but the group defends the ship by fighting. En-Don fights well but ends up severely injured, to everyone's despair. Keeth tries to help but informs all that only a Wicca Master can save En-Don. Then, Kai appears. She removes all the elves from the ship and gives Keeth instructions to meet her in a town called Ur, where she'll help them. The ship sails away, making Rakamore angry enough to kill thousands of elves.
On their way to meet Kai and save En-Don, Ka-Ron and Jatel realize that they will soon be men again. Ka-Ron takes on her previous role as Jatel's master and treats him solely as a squire; Molly questions her, but she's confident that's the way it has to be. Keeth tells Jatel not to give up his love. Upon arrival, all are stopped by thieves who demand to have sex with Ka-Ron, or they will not continue with their journey. She agrees, and it breaks Jatel's hearts. Ka-Ron becomes forced once more to allow herself to be used by Roadside bandits who block their only road to En-Don's rescue. When his master fails to return, Jatel goes to her -- she's devastated with what she has done, but Jatel professes his love, and they make amends, sure of the destiny they want to pursue.
They find Kai, but there's nothing she can do to save En-Don, and he dies, filling her with regret. After En-Don's funeral, Rohan, Dorian, and Rolmore leave to fight their war. Kai gets ready to revert her curse upon Ka-Ron and Jatel, but they ask her not to do so, as their love is too pure and grand; Ka-Ron wishes to stay a woman forever if she can have Jatel's love. Keeth marries them. After a busy night as newlyweds, Ka-Ron, going by the name Karen, and Jatel get ready to sail the Argo back home, to Idoshia. Molly becomes Keeth's apprentice and, maybe, future lover.
Along the way, the Nown World enters an unexplainable war, where peaceful nations and wise Kings attack one another for no apparent reason. An ancient evil arises, controlling all, leaving more story to be told.
