Development Pitch

This book is perfect for adaptation for any streaming service. It is fast-paced with memorable characters, political intrigue, romance, social unrest, and mass destruction. Here is the blurb on the back cover In an America where the government is at the mercy of multinational corporations, where drug gangs terrorize entire cities, where only the wealthy receive police protection, and where the poor toil in cold and damp underground tunnels not for money, but for temporary relief from the draconian interest rate on their ever-increasing debt. One man comes forward. And with the help of a media wizard, a genetic engineer, a renegade computer hacker, and a deeply troubled military genius, incites a revolution that propels him into the national spotlight and changes the face of America forever. That man’s name? NOON! This book is addictive reading and will likely become addictive watching.

Accuracy of Book Profile

Yes, the book profile accurately reflects the book.

Draw of Story

The story sets the stage with a grand description of Dr. Noon who stopped a meteor from destroying Earth. He has since been hailed a genius and hero. The New York City that is described is dark and grimy, almost like Gotham City.

Possible Drawbacks

It feels like the book strays away from the main character for a while. There is large expanse where Dr. Noon is nowhere to be seen. There are also some subplots that don't seem to add to the main plot.

Use of Special Effects

Primary Hook of Story

The hook is that the genius Dr. Noon decides to run for office but the power organizations around him stop at nothing to bring him down. I would watch this for the action, the plot could be stronger. The entertainment relies too heavily on the action.

Fanbase Potential

This feels a little kitschy and does not have a strong plot. Dr. Noon wants to run for office and that insights the rise of terror and destruction in NY. There doesn't seem to be a plausible excuse for the amount of violence and destruction.

Awards Potential

This does not have awards potential. It is a fun ride of a story but there isn't much substance behind the action. There is a complex world here but the urgency isn't their from the audience prospective.

Envisioned Budget

What’s New About the Story

The story is not original. It is about the action and the cool hero moments. More character development would make the audience more invested in the story. There are a few heartwarming scenes but they seem awkward.

Lead Characters

The lead character is supposed to be a genius who saved the world but he is very one dimensional. He relishes in his fame and fortune and is the typical hero. There is very little to him outside of that.

Uniqueness of Story

This is an average story. It could be improved with character development and and more dynamic plot. The reasons behind the plot do not seem dire enough to cause so much resistance.

Analyst Recommendation

While the story has many positive points, it has room for improvement (see possible paths below). If you can't change the story at this point, my suggestion is using your notes as a guide to highlight the best aspects of it when taking the next steps, either putting a pitch page together, a treatment, or a presentation.

Tips for Improvement

The story could use more character development and focus. Films such as John Wick are extremely popular because of the mix of sincerity and emotional empathy for the character. There are a few moments with minor character but not enough to set this story apart.
