Development Pitch

In the year 4690, the North American Continent and Asian Confederacy is involved in a brutal trade war building up to threaten the Galaxy Conglomerate, or "Conway." Director Jason Benn of the Conglomerate’s Arizona Satellite discovers the body of a frozen NASA astronaut on the moon. His recruits his girlfriend Yuk Mei Quan and her cousin Dr. Donald Liang who discover that the astronaut is over 10 billion years old. Through Liang's science, they realize this astronaut had witnessed the destruction of the Earth. Agreeing to keep their discovery under wraps, Benn is commissioned the Starship Atom Force and the team embarks on a ten year journey to discover the secrets of the universe. Through an anthology of ten interconnected short stories that span their ten year journey: relationships are forged and lost; promotions split up the team; survivors of planetary massacres reveal long buried secrets; an alien race tests Don Liang's true motivations; ugly secrets of Earth colonies are unearthed; culminating in a finale set in an intergalactic cafe populated by goddesses who warn of universal destruction at the hands of the Asian Confederacy's PakCorp. Each story is told from a rotating perspective, and only Quan's is told from a first person POV. Best described as "Star Trek" meets "Amway" by way of the Martian Chronicles, this novel is an often quirky examination of humanity surviving oppression while our main protagonist Quan learns how love can save the universe.
