Development Pitch
This story is a Christian/Jewish fictional story of Jonathon Bodnar, a thirty-one year old truck driver who was raised in Jewish Orthodoxy but becomes aligned with a group of Jewish Christians known today as “Messianics.” After winning the Powerball and becoming very wealthy, he spends all he owns to travel back in time to 30 Ad and walk with and listen to Jesus’ ministry firsthand. His trip is arranged by a lofty figure known only to him as Rafael. Along the way he meets Jesus and all the disciples and is allowed to travel with Him. Many of Jesus’ teachings and miracles are exemplified in Jonathon’s life, and he is simply known as John the Pauper. John falls in love and marries a woman from Canaan. At the wedding reception John runs out of wine and Jesus steps in to save the day. This book could be very controversial as, in the end, I project it is this John who wrote the Book of Revelation. I’ve also made Mary the Magdalene a central part of the whole story. I’ve always believed she was a much maligned woman and her role has been downsized for whatever reason. I’ve always believed she was a trusted companion who fully understood what Jesus was teaching when her male counterparts did not.
