    Development Pitch

The life and times of Talon Shaw, a young, rugged alpha male to a pride of shapeshifting panthers; his
struggle to protect the group against a pack of wolves and his intense, steamy relationship to recently
discovered mate Liberty Raines, a fierce young woman who runs the main bar in the small town of
    Olive Branch, Mississippi.

    What We Liked

Talon is a supernatural tale in the mold of successful projects such as “Twilight” and HBO’s “True
Blood”, including character traits and locations. Fans will certainly back the central couple, as they
unite to build an empire capable of spanning countless different stories, characters and formats.
Film: The story’s strength is founded on the supernatural features of the characters, as well as on the
charisma of whoever plays Talon and his beautiful mate, Liberty. The steaminess of the love scenes
would be determined by the intended audience - it’s either “Twilight” or “50 Shades of Grey”.
TV: The established universe is enough to generate many narrative arcs, exploring the backstory of
various secondary characters and the villains. Getting to know more about the panthers clan and their
past would also be interesting, as it would getting to know other types of shifters, enough to populate
a great number of episodes and serve as the panthers’ foes or allies.

Talon Shaw, a handsome, tanned construction businessman, begins the story by facing one of his
biggest foes: a press conference. Since two members of his pride were careless enough to allow
themselves to be filmed during their shift from human to panther, shapeshifting is now out in the
open. Talon inadvertently becomes the spokesperson for his kind as staying in the shadows is no
longer possible. Elsewhere in the small town of Olive Branch, Mississippi, bartender Liberty Raines is
having a difficult time keeping all kinds of discrimination out of her workplace. By fighting prejudiced
drunks and welcoming Talon’s pride, she ends up inexplicably attracted to him. It gets even more
difficult after Talon kisses her. After initially repelling him, Liberty makes it clear that she wants to be
romanced. He proceeds to do just that, while keeping his group of bodyguards, the Guardians,
watching Liberty’s house and her bar for protection. Talon and Liberty, now undeniably attracted to
each other, come close to consummating their relationship - until a young girl from the pride, Evie,
    gets kidnapped.
On the hunt for Evie, Talon discovers she was taken by wolves. Convinced that Liberty may get hurt,
he decides not to pursue her for now. After sulking for a couple of days, he finally concludes that he
simply can’t live without her. They have red-hot sex and she allows him to bite her neck, marking her
as his official mate. Evie, believed to be drugged, is still missing. A letter from the wolves addressed
to Talon is delivered to Liberty’s bar and offers up the girl in trade for Talon. Liberty, adamant on
protecting her feline loved one, decides to go to the rendezvous spot alone, without telling Talon. Bad
idea. She is beaten up and captured.
Talon is furious and goes after the lupine crew. At the wolves’ lair, both Liberty and Evie lie heavily
sedated and bruised. Out on their path to rescue them, the panthers receive a message disclosing the
exact location of their loved ones. The tip ends up being useful, as Talon and the Guardians break into
the place and shred their enemies to pieces. Liberty, however, is heavily hurt. The only way she might
make it is if she turns into a panther herself, by drinking Talon’s blood. He arranges for that to
happen. Liberty’s transformation means that she’s now able to have Talon’s cubs and be fully
accepted by the pride. An epilogue reveals that the wolves are still around, though - and holding
captive two young panthers, a brother and sister. The brother was the “rogue” who left marks around
Liberty’s house and bar earlier, forced by the wolves to observe and keep tabs on Talon’s object of
affection. He’s also the one who sent the life-saving message. Since Talon is still alive, the wolves kill
the poor boy and hold on to the sister, setting up the next chapters of the saga.
