Development Pitch

All of me welcomed is a coming of age story about a middle-class, awkward, book smart and street smart black youth, growing up in the southeastern part of the US during the crack epidemic of the 80's and 90's. A time period piece depicting that era's fashion; music; slang; and other pre-teen and teenage obsessions of that time. The main character and the supporting cast go through the ups and downs of puberty; violence; academia and death. Although edgy and controversial the story has lots of humor and memorable accounts sure to leave and lasting impression. I like to think of "All of me welcomed" as an urban updated version of "The wonder years".

About The Author

K.K. Monnon-Komlan the former Editor and Chief for "Coolage Magazine" an independent Hip-Hop magazine reaching its heights in the early 2010's. A product of hip-hop culture himself; his writing style and story telling; lends voice to those without voice and purpose. On his first noel "All of me welcomed", K.K tales a story of a book smart/street smart kid trying to survive the wonder years of the 1980's and 1990's.

CONSIDER

Justification

This is a good story. It's familiar turf but a good writer could turn this into something. It seems well suited for episodic TV.
