Development Pitch
Anyone who has ever wondered what it’s like to live and work backstage at a rock show will enjoy this story. Full of colorful descriptions of the technical side of concerts, the book will adapt readily to a TV series (think Cameron Crowe's *Roadies* with less sensationalized roles) or film (a modern *Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants* for thirty-somethings.) But perhaps even more importantly, Where Are We Tomorrow? will likely appeal to a broad range of women, particularly those who have struggled with the question of whether or not they want a family. Women who have miscarried and feel they are alone (1/4 of all pregnancies miscarry, yet the subject is rarely discussed) will identify with Alex's struggles. The book has a strong cast of female characters who each have unique personalities, every one portraying a different aspect of what it means to be female in a male-dominated industry. Delving into each of the characters' history, the book traces the impact of trauma on our bodies and the choices we consequently make in our lives. The story treads the line between a serious ensemble piece and a quirky indie-film vibe.
