    Accuracy of Book Profile

Yes, the book profile does a good job reflecting the book, however since Taylor becomes less important as the book goes on it might be better to include Daphne in the character details as she is more influential.

    Draw of Story

The twist that Kristen is not the victim but the mastermind and villain behind the werewolf attack is shocking and great.

    Possible Drawbacks

The dialogue lacks nuance during a lot of the conversations which can make the exposition sound unrealistic. The character motivation of Kristen with Damien and Blair is realistic but her attack on her baby sister seems less relatable.

    Use of Special Effects

THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

    Primary Hook of Story

The hook is that Clarissa predicts the death of her crush's girlfriend. She also suspects he might be the killer. It is great tension in the first act and develops in unexpected ways.

    Fanbase Potential

This could have a large fanbase as it is werewolves for teenagers which has not had its own type of visual medium in recent years.

    Awards Potential

Due to its supernatural teen romance as the primary genre this is unlikely to have prestige nominations but it could win popular awards with the youth.

    Envisioned Budget

    LARGE BUDGET

    What’s New About the Story

The originality stems from the complex relationship between Clarissa, Daphne, Bryce, Damien and Kristen. Their relationship dynamics are diverse and intriguing with shifting alliances and heated emotional stakes. Focusing less on outside side characters such as Taylor which don't provide influence could help delve deeper in their dynamics. For example, Kristen talks more about Damien than is shown with her fake relationship with Damien.

    Lead Characters

Clarissa is an accidental psychic who is surprisingly mellow and accepting as she keeps a level head through much of her wild encounters. Damien is loyal and self- sacrificing. Kristen is determined, jealous, and misguided.

    Uniqueness of Story

This has a relationship dynamic and plot progression that is surprisingly engaging. The characters themselves could be more developed and the dialogue altered with greater nuance to sound more realistic.

    Film: Streaming, Indie, Studio

    Analyst Recommendation

    CONSIDER

    Justification

The twist and the character dynamics within the lot are unexpected. The pacing is consistent and the tension rises at the appropriate points to a satisfying climax. The dialogue could be more nuanced and the characters could be more developed as they seem too adult at times.

    Brief

After predicting a classmate's death, a girl teams up with the victim's werewolf ex-boyfriend to stop the killer before more people get hurt.

    What We Liked

This is a fun Young Adult novel filled with fantasy and romance. It touches on subjects pertaining to the age group, like boyfriends, sex, and college. The characters experience and make different life and romantic choices, keeping the book from being morally judgmental. It has a happy ending and a positive take on marriage.

Film: THE OTHER SIDE OF MIDNIGHT has all the bait elements to become a YA success. Fantasy, romance, drama, and mystery. The story has a well-structured arc that could easily be adapted to a 90-minute feature film. In addition, with today's technology, the VFX could make the werewolf world look even more magical, creating the potential for alluring visuals. Because the ending flashes forward so many years, a film can provide the viewer with the satisfaction of a fairy-tale ending.

TV: As a traditional YA fantasy, THE OTHER SIDE OF MIDNIGHT has all the elements to engage teenagers around the world. It could be beautifully adapted for TV because of its complex underworld of werewolves, its history, and rules. Each episode could move forward the romance between Clarissa and Damien, while slowly revealing more about werewolves and the mystery around the rogue wolf. There are several characters to explore and develop, creating enough content for multiple seasons.
