Short Summary
Sydney, a homeless woman, is found eating from the dumpster behind an oceanside pub. An employee finds her, brings her inside for a meal, and offers her a job. At first Gunnar, the gruff bar owner, isn’t pleased with the addition to his staff, but the quiet woman soon intrigues him.
After years of running from a traumatic past, Sydney has found a new home at The Skipper, and a new family with Gunnar and his two children. Gunnar hardly recalls the timid little bird he first saw scrubbing his bathroom floor when he looks at the strong and capable woman who has claimed his heart.

Development Pitch
Similar to the novels of JoJo Moyes, From Dust offers a strong visual backdrop to a story chronicling a woman’s journey from unspeakable tragedy to a new beautiful life. Traumatized and homeless, a woman is reminded there is kindness in the world when the staff of a local pub, The Skipper, welcomes her into the fold, despite its handsome owner’s misgivings.
