    Starting Description

Losing Logan is a mystery at heart, concealed within a paranormal romance. Ficklin is adept at nailing the banter and mannerisms of high school students. The contrast between Zoe's search to uncover Logan's killer and her life amid the living is well-drawn and compelling.

    Ending Description

Zoe discovers she's the one holding Logan (and her father) to the earthly plain and must learn that loving someone means letting them go.

    What We Liked

    - Teen rom-com and high school drama with paranormal elements.
    - The lead changes her look, going undercover as a popular kid, in order to solve the
    murder.
    - Good reveals and cliffhangers throughout.
    - Action is driven by an evil entity from beyond the grave, adding extra impetus to the plot.
    - Love triangle, as Zoe balances Logan (dead) and another more viable interest (alive!)

    Synopsis

ZOE, 17, attends an open casket viewing for LOGAN, 17, with her gay high school friend CARLOS,
    17. She can’t deal with the spectacle of other girls crying, and her mom drives them home. Then
Logan suddenly appears. As a ghost.
Logan wants her to help him figure out what is happening, why he has returned... The two agree
it is must be due to his murder - Zoe needs to find the culprit so Logan can move on.
Zoe decides to infiltrate the popular crowd, Logan’s former friends. She gets a makeover and
ingratiates herself - finding herself strongly drawn to one boy, Bruno. As she starts to unravel the
mystery, she realises the whole group are haunted by a dead person called “The Reaper”. The
Reaper seems to be leaving Zoe clues.
Zoe starts dating Bruno, whilst being simultaneously attracted to Logan. Troublesome, as Logan
appears to her as vapour, unable to be touched. The plot thickens with a conspiracy involving
Logan’s pregnant ex-girlfriend, who also turns up dead.
But in fact Logan knew the baby wasn’t his. It turns out the killer was the school’s lacrosse
coach - and the father of the child.
Back at school, Zoe is voted homecoming queen. She takes Logan to the cemetery. There, the
Reaper is revealed to be her dad who died years earlier - he was trying to help all along. She and
Logan have a tearful goodbye. Her father explains that it won’t be forever. She closes her eyes
and when she opens them, both have gone. Some time later, Zoe and Bruno get married.
