Because I have faint recollection of a red brick building with lots of sidewalks, I am thinking the beginning of my life story most likely began in a rundown apartment complex in Houston, Texas. From Houston, Mama left me with grandparents in Cleveland, Texas. My life truly began after Cleveland .

A last visit to an old home town evokes memories of people and events.. The universal theme being that life goes on and neither the good nor bad lasts for ever.

Because I have faint recollection of a red brick building with lots of sidewalks, I am thinking the beginning of my life story began in a rundown apt complex in Houston, Texas. From Houston, Mama left me with grandparents in Cleveland, and from Cleveland my mother ans I followed her new husband to Madisonville, Texas. For ten years we lived a Cinderella life style, but there was no fairy godmother. A true, and evil step-sister stole our world by committing fraud. Our world of luxury and wealth become a world of poverty, so much so, that soon we were wards of an institution. The Home provided a different life direction with no farm, no animals, and no close friends.It wa a different type of struggle, and the only reward for survival was a full scholarship for a special student. I won that scholarship and The Last Cowgirl is a testament to hard work and determination, and the universal theme ,that regardless of incidents or events, life moves on, that there is a tomorrow.

I am 75 years old and for 50 years I have been an award winning Realtor. Prior to becoming a real estate broker, I was a school teacher. I was married for 42 years and have two remarkable children. My son is a Ph.d and my daughter has her Masters. The Last Cowgirl was written while recovering from cancer surgery. I am unpublished. My daughter has helped me arrange and remember. I have always been busy and writing kept me sane. It started out as a diary for my children and their children. My family and friends suggested publication.
