Ellie finds out her husband has been cheating on her. She finds a new romance with Lucien, an Art student in San Francisco, who turns out to be a drug dealer He gets her addicted to cocaine. She shakes the addiction by going to live in Paris for 2 years. When she returns, she tries to find him.

This is a true story based on adventures that take place in the 1970's. It is about a young woman, Ellie, whose husband refuses at the last minute to go on a planned summer tour of Europe. She decides to travel alone and boards The San Marco for a 2 week Mediterranean cruise. When a crew member is taken off board in Rome and hospitalized, she worries about getting quarantined on the ship. She read cholera was spreading from Calcutta to Europe. She has a torrid shipboard romance with Armando as she visits Greece and Turkey. She gets a wire from her husband George that he wants to meet her in Barcelona since he doesn't want to get a divorce when she returns to San Francisco. They travel to Spain & Morocco. She finds out he has been cheating on her and on her return, divorces him. She has a new boyfriend Lucien, who is a drug dealer. She becomes addicted to cocaine, but shakes it when she moves to Paris. She returns to San Francisco 2 years later, and when she tries to find Lucien, she is in for a big shock.

About The Author

Eleanor Sinclair has lectured in psychology at a university, worked as a photographer in Paris, and has been an art dealer in New York. This is Part I of a trilogy, transcribed from journals she kept. Part II is "The Paris Journals," Part III is "Barnard College."
