Accuracy of Book Profile
Yes, the book profile does accurately reflect the book.
Draw of Story
The story deals with death and the afterlife. Raven has an in depth understanding of what the afterlife looks like. She also receives first hand accounts of people's experiences transitioning into death.
Possible Drawbacks
The book can be very depressing. It is all about death and transition into the afterlife which can't be avoided because it is the nature of the story.
Use of Special Effects
THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS
Primary Hook of Story
The hook is that Raven knows what happens in the afterlife and what happens when someone dies. I would watch this movie to see a different perspective on the afterlife. There are so many ideologies surrounding this subject and seeing it visually would be appealing.
Fanbase Potential
This could have a large fanbase because it is such a relatable topic. Everyone knows what it's like to lose someone and it's apart of everyone's life.
Awards Potential
I can see this having awards potential because it's a real dive into a serious topic. It's well written and connects to the human spirit.

What’s New About the Story
The story is original because it focuses exclusively on death. There is no miraculous healing of a character or someone brought back to life. This is also very matter of fact in the way its told, not as much a narrative as a collection of experiences written down. It is unique in how its expressing the ideology.
Lead Characters
The lead character stands out in her complete acceptance of the ability that she possesses. She is also brave enough to turn it into a vocation and help others.
Uniqueness of Story
This is a gem of a story. It deals with death and the afterlife in a very calm and realistic way. There isn't a lot of drama surrounding each person's story. It also deals with each person coming to terms with there earthly lives. She also touches on difficult subjects such as children dying and criminals.

Analyst Recommendation
RECOMMEND
Justification
This is a recommend because it doesn't romanticize death or pair it with a love story. It focuses on the transition and gives a breakdown of the afterlife.
Brief
Ever since she was a child, Raven B. Dance felt a spiritual connection to the departed. Years of working as a nurse in palliative care introduced her to many dying people who she was able to communicate with after they had passed. Now armed with the knowledge of the afterlife, she seeks to soothe curious minds about what happens when we die.
What We Liked
- This is a very comforting read for anyone who has lost anyone or fears for their own life. This book explores connections to those who have passed in a non-judgmental way without preaching a religious faith.
- As a film, this could be an interesting biography of Raven's life and could take the form of a documentary exploring her powers of connection to the afterlife.
- As a television show, this could be similar to a reality show like Long Island Medium, except it would have a lot more heart and sincerity in its efforts to connect people with the ones they have lost.
- Key points: Unique concept; Non-fiction; Older main characters; Large Ensemble of characters; Interesting viewpoint.
Synopsis
Author Raven B. Dance recounts her life, starting with how she discovered her powers. Raven was always different as a child and had a connection she could not quite understand to the after life. As a child, she was obsessed with helping those less fortunate than her and would constantly collect donations for various charities. Her first experience was watching the bassinet carrying her newborn younger cousin rock seemingly on its own and realizing that her recently deceased grandmother had been in her room, rocking the child from beyond.
Raven's connection was further solidified after the deaths of her mother and father. Her mothers was especially hard as, due to Raven's own health problems, she was not able to be with her mother in the last stages of her battle against Alzheimer's. However, her mother later appeared to her in a dream and explained that she was at peace: she had become a spiritual chauffeur in the after life helping newly departed souls let go and continue their journey in the other realms. This further inspired Raven to further explore her gifts and the communication with those in the afterlife.
Working as a nurse in palliative care, Raven comes into contact with many people who are dying. Her friend Kate, an older woman, consistently visits her after her death, helping solidify the reality of powers in Raven's mind. Another individual Raven gets close to is a woman named Cecille, a friend of Raven's with a wicked sense of humor. Raven is able to see Cecille's influence from beyond the grave everywhere and feels comforted by the eternal presence of her lost friend. Raven also tries to help a neighbor of hers, Jerry. Jerry is a recluse and often tries to shun away others from helping him. Raven hears him falling multiple times and tries to confront him about it to help him, but he refuses her help. Through persistence, Raven is able to get Jerry to open up to her. Jerry is a pained man suffering from loneliness and the feelings of separateness. It is only in death that he is able to find an everlasting peace, but Raven is comforted that she did everything she could to reach out to him while alive.
Raven explores various religions and faith based groups in order to strengthen her innate abilities and powers and learn more about their scope and potential. She finally connects with a group of Light Beings and Higher evolved Souls called The Collective and cites their teachings throughout the book on heavy topics like suicide, the afterlife, not so nice people in the afterlife, and the death of pets and animals. Raven comforts readers with the knowledge that death is not the end, it's simply a transition into a different state of being.
