Accuracy of Book Profile

The book profile does not accurately reflect the book. Willow was not born among the Crows. She lived in the Dominion city but was brought up on their values. Her family planned to escape for years but she is new to the world they live in. The profile mentions jealousy when it was closer to fear and disbelief. Willow can hear noises from further than anyone else and has premonitions about the Dominion coming to destroy the secret camp. No one believes her and act like she is crazy.

Draw of Story

The story is science fiction and begins with Willow explaining the structured world she lives in. There is no privacy, rigid rules and deadly punishments when stepping out of line. Everything in her world is regulated by the government. I was intrigued to read how the story unfolds.

Possible Drawbacks

The book is predictable. Willow discovers she has special powers passed down from her grandmother. No one around her believes it, attributing it to the unfamiliar territory or stress. She is proven right when her premonition comes true but not after lives are lost. It is similar to many different dystopian ,young adult stories.

Use of Special Effects

THE STORY DOES NOT RELY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

Primary Hook of Story

The hook is that Willow and her family escape their rigid society to join the rebellion in the mountains. Willow realizes there are spies working with the enemy but no one believes her. Dystopian, young adult stories have been done a lot recently but can still be interesting. This has enough to draw people's attention and keep audiences entertained.

Fanbase Potential

This could have a large fanbase. There is a niche for these stories at the moment. It also combines different genres that can appeal to a wide audience. There is action, thrills, humor, romance and a coming of age story. There is also a strong female lead.

Awards Potential

This story does not have awards potential. While entertaining, it is not set apart from films of the same genre. The characterization is good but the focus is on the story.

Envisioned Budget

MEDIUM BUDGET

What’s New About the Story

The story is original because Willow and her family don't need to see the light. They are aware of their lack of freedoms, but play by the rules until they can escape. They are Crows at heart. Also Williow has enhanced powers that are not a result of a drug or medical experiment.

Lead Characters

The lead character doesn't stand out. Willow is a teenage girl who discovers she has some heightened senses. She reacts normally to the situations and environment around her.

Uniqueness of Story

This is not a rare gem as it is similar to many dystopian films. It has enough differences to be entertaining.

Possible Formats

Analyst Recommendation

CONSIDER

Justification

The story is well rounded and well written. There are entertaining elements with their escape, integration into the Crows society and Willow learning that her father is working for the enemy. The world of the Dominion city and the Crow camp could be explored deeper. The juxtaposition of the two worlds will give a greater understanding of what the characters are fighting for and against.
