She connects to her funny bones in the hot yoga studio with Michael, a gay yoga instructor and aspiring Broadway performer; she stretches towards samadhi with the help of a NYC entertainment attorney she meets on a yoga retreat putting up her tent in the rain; and she meets MadMax, a reiki master, and her student in Thailand who teaches her the company is more important than the destination. Her adventure takes her from Hollywood, where she trains as a hot yoga instructor, to the jungles of Costa Rica teaching surfers, through Thailand to Bollywood. Patricia Gavin is an author and yoga instructor. She serves as an Ambassador for BeYogi Insurance in Ponte Vedra, Florida. She trained and certified as a yoga instructor with Bikram Choudhury in Spring 2014 in Los Angeles, California, on a veteran scholarship and recertifed in Acapulco, Mexico, in June 2018. She has taught for the Kirov Academy of Ballet Summer Intensive and privately in her own studio in Middleburg, Virginia. As a volunteer and student she has attended workshops at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York, and taught in Costa Rica. Her first book SIX AM IN LA Keys to a Healthy Yoga Practice is available Amazon Kindle and on Digicards-Card to studios and gyms to sell and details the process of becoming a Bikram hot yoga teacher. Gavin is a graduate of San Francisco State University, where she earned a B.A. in Broadcast Communications and Aerospace Science and a commission in the US Air Force. She served eight years on active duty as a public affairs & recruiting staff officer and on the national press desk for the Air Force Reserve. She also served as a journalism professor for the Department of Defense. After military service, she earned an MBA in eCommerce, Hospitality Management and Human Resources from Keller Graduate School of Management based in Chicago, Illinois.
