Short Summary
As the son of a sanitation worker, young Ron was exposed early to the world's wastefulness, and often spent Sundays after church picking through the dump with his dad and brothers for treasures. Seeing the perfectly good things others would simply discard, he became passionate about the planet.
Overcoming enormous obstacles and with the help of his brother and friends, Ron changed the face of privately owned renewable energy. A law was passed requiring major power plants to pay smaller plants a fair price for their power, thus making private renewable power profitable and possible again.

Development Pitch
A generous, kind pilot with a passion for reducing waste, Ron Edwards never imagined he would change the world. But in the 1970s, when the world was living blind to their destruction of the environment, he realized something had to be done. Distraught by the power shortages across the country, he set out to change the tide in favor of privately owned renewable energy, rather than large power monopolies. He came up against power giants, nuclear power plant owners, and wealthy money-hungry men, but he overcame them all. With the help of his friends and brother, Ron Edwards made it possible for hundreds of small, privately owned renewable power plants to once again turn their wheels and bring light to the country.
