Logline Lilly, Going West, A Young Woman’s Journey Lilly comes from a poor farm family back east and soon finds herself alone after a disastrous wagon train ride out West. She does her best to survive becoming ‘A woman of the West’. Young Lilly is hired on as a cook and housekeeper. She assumes the house was a school for young ladies, but in reality it was a house of pleasure. As the years pass, Lilly deals with the trials and tribulations of her life during the late 1800’s. Lilly was not one to shrink from danger, whether in one of the three floods that changed her life or stranded her in the rowdy part of New Orleans. Lilly’s story unfolds like looking through a family album. Throughout Lilly’s tale she goes through many emotions as she learns happiness is not a place, but a time when you can give love and be loved by others. Lilly speaks about her adventure as she lived it, bold and brave.
