In the summer of 1963, Jake, Donny and Dibs are looking forward to a fun-filled summer of laughs before to high school in the fall. The three boys' parents, however, have different plans for their sons' vacation.

Short Summary

Jake is sitting in a coffee shop in Kingston, Ontario. While enjoying his coffee he was pulled into a conversation with an older man regarding the term Generation as it refers to, eg generation x, and other like labels. He is confused by the approach and in the conversation but thinks about 1963.

Jake makes it through a summer of personal growth, finds himself confronted by a young lady, first day in high school and wonders, when she asks him to a Sadie Hawkins dance, if she is the one occupying his mind the past summer.
