The book profile does accurately reflect the book. It, however, vaguely touches on the expanded storyline.

The story begins with Aimee's abduction but it is not in the typical way alien abductions are portrayed. The other beings are humanoid and speak English. There has been a mix-up with Aimee and she was never meant to be taken. They are remorseful but can't take her home for another 5 years. The aliens are the backdrop to a coming of age story.

The story makes the aliens too conveniently human-like. There are no language barriers or many custom differences. The story focuses on Aimee and her evolution as a young woman on an unexpected journey. It doesn't feel like she is in a different world than where she came from. There is a lack of world building which would have added depth to the story.

THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

The hook is that Aimee is abducted at 17 years old. She finds herself on an adventure aboard a spaceship to distant places. I would watch this movie for the sci-fi aspect. There is a lighthearted tone to the story because of its young adult genre. There have not been many young adult stories about space exploration. This would be refreshing next to the dystopian future stories.

This could have a large fanbase because it is similar, in structure, to many young adult films. It also has some action, adventure and romance.

This story does not have awards potential. There is nothing groundbreaking about the story, the structure or the characters.

The story is original because is an alien abduction theme that doesn't involve horrific creatures and death. The focus is on Aimee and her journey of personal growth and adventure. She also finds love with Zak, a refugee on the ship. It could be more unique with deeper world building. It seemed exceptionally easy for Aimee to acclimate to the spaceship and the foreign world of space travel.

The lead character stands out in her reaction to her circumstances. She is described as a non-popular, average teenager and she ends up being a beloved member of the crew. She has a major role in helping during a crisis and opens herself up to love. She is a young woman who did the best she could with the situation she found herself in.

This is an average story with enough unique elements to make it interesting. It involves space travel, not because of a dying Earth and the need for human survival. It plays up a well known troupe with a young perspective.

This story has the elements for an interesting film and is set up to be a series. A young human woman, venturing into space, spending 5 years at a time having adventures. There are not many films like this right now. It does need to be developed more thoroughly and given more depth. There are some parts that are not believable.
