Saucey Katz is an original and amusing romp through MeerKat Jamaica. Clarence and Cordelia are two attractive Katz and their love story compelling. We want them to succeed in their quests, Clarence to become the Jerk Sauce King of Jamaica and Cordelia to become the Jamaican Ballroom Dancing Champion. Apart they can't succeed, together they can defeat anybody, even Doctor Magonda, the evil Vudu Doctor, who knows that he can never be Jamaican Ballroom Dancing Champion in his own short misshapen body! He therefore needs to "worm" Clarence and take his form! Only then can he have Cordelia to himself and use her family sauce business, "The Herky Perky Sauce Factory" to make and sell huge amounts of his "Magic Jerk" brand of sauce. If Clarence can't win the Jerk King of Jamaica title and become a Master Saucerer, the Doctor may well succeed! With plenty of sauce, a bit of the great Marley Kat and the help of a Rasta Kat with an excessive hair growth problem and a paranoic fear of the word "Brazilian" our heros cannot be defeated!
Clarence, a likable meerkat who produces Jamaica's best jerk sauce, dreams of winning a sauce competition and a dance contest alongside the girl he likes. However, an envious and terrible villain will use magic to prevent Clarence from making his dreams come true.

Accuracy of Book Profile
Draw of Story
The story starts right into the action, quickly introducing the universe, Clarence, and the villain. We already understand right away the dispute in the jerk sauce market supported by the villain. The first few pages contain enough information to make us get the entire plot.
The repetition of actions is a little tiring. The villain keeps turning into different people trying to get closer to Clarence and Cordelia. If this villain managed to use more diverse tools to reach his goal, the plot would sound more surprising.
Use of Special Effects
THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS
Primary Hook of Story
Clarence's character is inspiring. Despite the challenges the protagonist faces along the way, and after being discredited due to his social class, the young meerkat continues to search for his dreams. It is a story with a well-defined goal, which has the power to bring the audience closer.
The story has good narrative elements and an interesting character, but it would need development, especially in actions and conflicts, to reach a wider audience.
If the central theme of persisting in making dreams come true could be more evident and internal conflicts could be as developed as external ones, the work would reach a more significant potential for awards.

What’s New About the Story
The Jamaican context and the jerk sauce market led by meerkats are unique elements that make a non-original narrative a little fresher.
Clarence is a meerkat who advances his work and dreams day after day. He is extremely talented and does not let himself be overwhelmed in the face of challenges, becoming an active protagonist that makes us cheer even more upon his achievements. The young Cordelia is dreamy and determined and does everything she can to conquer what she loves, Clarence and the dance competition. The central couple is well built and engaging enough to stand out. The villain should be more powerful in order to look more dangerous.
Uniqueness of Story
It is not a rare gem, but not for lack of original elements. The story has interesting points, but the narrative construction could be more surprising.
WORK IN PROGRESS
It is a work in progress because it has exciting elements that build this story. Having Jamaica as a background, enabling investigating the local culture is an A + for the story. The market for jerk sauces run by meerkats, and this commercial dispute between sellers is unique in animation. However, the author could improve narrative structure, goals, villain's actions, and dialogues.
Tips for Improvement
An animated film with a targeted audience from 7 to 54 needs a double layer of narrative so that adults and children can enjoy the same tale. Surprise is also an essential factor in this type of story. However, the narrative follows a single layer that does not effectively seem to suit young children or adult audiences. For example, the hairy meerkat does not want to be shaved and is terrified by the word "Brazilian" because the Brazilian bikini is quite "deep." You need a specific background to understand the joke, and for some audiences, it could sound not polite if not further explained. Also, this conflict for local businesses would be more appealing to a slightly more mature audience. Finding a good balance between attractive elements for adults and children that a universal audience can understand is essential for this type of film. The dialogues are very explanatory. Obviously, lines directed at a kids audience need to be more descriptive, but they can still be more thought-provoking, fun, creative. The villain could have a wider range of actions. The extensive use of voodoo leaves the sequence a little tiring. Those two different types of competitions as the protagonist's main goal causes both to lose some strength. Clarence wants to win the jerk sauce contest, but he also wants to win a dance competition. As the story moves in parallel towards these two objectives, we lose attention to both. Goals are always welcome, but they could be more diverse. From the moment Clarence wins his first competition, our excitement for the second one decreases. The story is compelling. The Jamaican background is unusual. The main characters are engaging, and the villain has a magical power that makes him more playful and attractive, but changes in structure, narrative layers, and dialogue could make the script more appealing.
