About The Author

Joy was born May 26, 1930. Council Bluffs, Iowa, has been home for most of these many years. The first employment after High School was secretary to Attorneys at Law. Marriage, homemaker, and motherhood followed. Later jobs were Campbell Soup Inventory Records, Western Electric (now AT&T) receptionist, secretary, and retired as Data Processing team member. The Electrifying Demise is my first book, and becoming an author is a surprise but exciting. My long life will give many stories to write about.

Accuracy of Book Profile

No the book profile does not accurately reflect the book. It looks like an excerpt from the book rather than a summary. It needs to cover the points of the story.

Draw of Story

The story did not draw me in at all. The dialogue is extremely substandard. All the characters speak in long sections of dialogue. The story drags on considering not many events happen.

Possible Drawbacks

The dialogue makes this story hard to digest. The characters are extremely long winded and explain every insignificant thought or feeling. Their thoughts are strung together even when they don't correlate with another. The story is very long considering it only documents a period of time in Mike's life without any real significant events. There is no driving plot.

Use of Special Effects

Primary Hook of Story

The hook is that Mike runs a small flying business. There is some drama with a Cuban businessman. This movie would not be very entertaining. There are too many cliche lines and actions.

Fanbase Potential

This would not have a large fanbase because this story has been done before and much better. It is very unrealistic and the characters' dialogue are extremely predictable.

Awards Potential

This would not have awards potential because the story has a very loose plot and the characters are undefined.

What’s New About the Story

There is nothing original about this story. It would need a complete overhaul for it to work. A show about a rural private airplane company that is being threatened by a bigger company could be developed. The characters would need to be developed as well.

Lead Characters

Nothing about the lead characters stand out. It is hard to gauge their personalities because they all sound the same. The speech style is the same for almost all the characters.

Uniqueness of Story

This is an average story that is brought down by the formatting and dialogue. If the dialogue were developed and were distinct between characters and the region they reside, it would improve the story greatly. This book does not have it's own voice.

Possible Formats

TV Series - Cable, TV Series - Limited Run / Mini-Series, TV Series - Streaming

Analyst Recommendation

While the story has many positive points, it has room for improvement (see possible paths below). If you can't change the story at this point, my suggestion is using your notes as a guide to highlight the best aspects of it when taking the next steps, either putting a pitch page together, a treatment, or a presentation.

Tips for Improvement

This would need a complete overhaul with the writing style, dialogue and character development. There are no nuances with the character or how they converse.
