Located in Honolulu,Hawaii is a family own Restaurant. The year is 1969, Amos is a dishwasher and works there. It is the interaction between Amos and the staff, Patrons of the Grill. Amos has a mental illness and struggles with his affliction. He looks out of the Kitchen portholes and observes life.



Short Summary

Amos and Lucky watch as the family restaurant, Olympic Grill is being demolished. They see the building falling apart but knew that financially it had been ruined. They think about all the memories of the restaurant and the good people from every ethnic group, that made it Olympic Grill.

Amos asks Lucky if it would be possible to start another restaurant another generational establishment.

This story is about 3rd generation Okinawan born and raise in Honolulu, Hawaii. He struggles with a mental illness, poor self-esteem,searching for love in the year 1969 in a small community in Honolulu. Just the location Honolulu, Hawaii would be an excellent film. 1969 the summer of love, Woodstock the music the town located blocks away from from University of Hawaii all making for a magnificent canvas for a movie. This story has the audience looking through the Kitchen portholes into a heartwarming tale of a family helping many people in the community. Once you start reading the book you won't be able to put it down. Laughter, Love, Sorrow all ages will enjoy this film. Watch as the story starts out from the end to a new beginning.

Mark Miyashiro is a Third Generation Okinawan born in Hawaii. He has worked at several Television Stations in Honolulu, Hawaii. as a Technical Director. Mark was employed by KITV (ABC) KIKU-TV (Ind.) KHON (NBC) KHAI-TV (Ind.) KGMB (CBS) from 1977-1997. In 2013 he published "Olympic Grill" currently is retired and has 3 grandchildren. He resides in Kaneohe, Hawaii with his wife of 30yrs.
