Development Pitch

The Milk Moon Assassin's pages represent a preferred choice for a TV series of 16-32 chapters . Simply put - it has so much to it! Containing an aboundent of thrilling issues ranging from desperate love, betrayal, blood-freezing vengeance, sophisticated espionage, bloody war, romance, brotherhood and rivalry, Mossad assassinations, heartbreaking menage-a-trois scenes to in depth psychological scrutiny. It has a sophisticated yet well streaming structure. A critic described it as follows: "This is not your classic zip bang kill. It is a novel deeply rooted in the Middle East, and the complexities of cultures, people, history, religion that intersect in that region...The characters are lively, complex, and well developed... There are frequent flashbacks filling in the history and illuminating the characters and their relationships - and the ending, which ties things together is one of the most brilliant and satisfying I have encountered in a long time." Remember, your movie or TV series will glue the audience to stay with it "like a good archaeological excavation - the whole structure is only discovered bit by bit, in layers - but when the whole excavation is revealed, there is a sense of completion and satisfaction and even wonder." Imagine all this blended into locations in Germany, England, Paris and Israel's desert and ancient cities! A memorable suggested soundtrack, and crystalized smart dialogues will keep your viewers at the edge of their seats.

Accuracy of Book Profile

Yes, it does, with the exception that it isn't actually based on a true story.

Draw of Story

The premise, that seems exciting and interesting to read.

Possible Drawbacks

Things take too much time to happen and the narrative is exaggeratedly descriptive. Sometimes, it could be less contemplative and more straight-to-the-point in order to hold the reader's interest.

Use of Special Effects

THE STORY DOES NOT RELY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

Primary Hook of Story

A revenge story full of revelations and reversing of expectations.

Fanbase Potential

Not exactly a large fanbase, but it could be successful with a less complicated and unecessarily long narrative.

Awards Potential

It could because of the main theme, but there would have to be changes and major revisions in order for it to work as an adaptatiom.

Envisioned Budget

MEDIUM BUDGET

What’s New About the Story

It is a different assessment for a revenge story, especially considering it is located outside the American reality. However, it could be more direct in order to create suspense and lead the audience to care about its characters.

Lead Characters

They are all dubious, aggressive, somewhat contemplative and phylosophic, and also psychologically complex.

Uniqueness of Story

Not really, the narrative should be more clear and direct in order for the story and a possible adaptation to work for the audience.

Analyst Recommendation

WORK IN PROGRESS

Justification

While the story has many positive points, it has room for improvement (see possible paths below). If you can't change the story at this point, my suggestion is using your notes as a guide to highlight the best aspects of it when taking the next steps, either putting a pitch page together, a treatment, or a presentation.

Tips for Improvement

The main necessary change is that the narrative would have to be more direct, which doesn't mean leaving aside psychological complexity, poetic moments or contemplation scenes, but making clear that the story is constantly advancing. This is essential, because the book and a hypothetical adaptation both need to keep the audience's attention so that the revelations and surprises that the narrative holds along the way work and manage to cause an impact. Other than that, the book itself feels too long, and the excess of characters might confuse the readers. For a film adaptation, there would need to be some cuts to the general story. The way it is, it would be more appropriate for a miniseries adaptation, that would allow for further character development and considerably more screen time for the story to unravel. However, even in the case of a TV adaptation, wide revisions would be necessary, since the narrative feels somewhat bloated and exaggeratedly long for the story it has to tell. The fact that the author's writing style is good helps a lot, but a cleaner, more direct approach would have greater chances of succeeding and attracting larger audiences for this intriguing premise.
