Development Pitch

Sidewalk Spots is a story about a young man, Marcus Plato Hanlon, who grows up in The Tenderloin, a lousy neighborhood of San Francisco. He doesn't have a father. Until he starts school, Marcus has only an unstable mother, an unusual aunt and his sidewalk spots to shape his world. On his first day of school, he meets three friends and encounters different teachers who help expand his perspective throughout elementary school and high school. Yet, Marcus continues to search for something more beyond the San Francisco sidewalks of The Tenderloin, North Beach and the financial district where he works for many years. Ultimately, he laves the big city and opts for something smaller with the hopes that a smaller town will bring him something larger.
