Development Pitch

A great many people love cruising and stories set aboard cruise ships as evidenced by the success of several movies. Who can forget Speed 2 - Cruise Control and Poseidon Adventure? I see my story more as a movie than a TV series as it has a definitive ending (although a sequel is in the works). I believe it fills a void currently within the motion picture industry. Action, suspense, mystery and romance, all happening in a setting that captures your imagination. But the story goes a step further in that it gives an insight into what really happens behind the scenes on a mega cruise ship. That alone will hook all the cruise afficionados out there. The characters are charismatic and well-drawn as evidenced by the positive reviews the book received on Amazon and which encouraged me to submit it to TaleFlick. In writing it, I confess my inspiration for the Captain was the younger Raoul Bova and for Ali, someone who physically resembles Shakira. Why me, why my story? Why not? Its a great story that captures your interest and keeps you guessing. Once you are into it, a true page turner and who dunnit. So many readers loved the story and the characters. It's a long book and not as many committed readers today, so maybe a screen version would best serve the story and reach more people.

About The Author

Joanne Warren is a first-time novelist with over twenty years of experience in the global cruise industry. A passionate cruise afficionado, she became hooked on cruising during the first twenty-four hours of her first cruise and remains so today. Another of her passions is creative writing, which she uses as an outlet for some of her more colorful dreams. In fact, Vanishing Angle was the result of a dream that didn't fade in the light of day, and once the initial thought was put to paper, took on a life of its own. In writing the story, her goal was to give readers an insight into the life of those who work on board cruise ships as well as weave an interesting tale that would keep the reader involved and guessing what the final outcome would be. Many of the situations in the book are based on ones that have actually occurred in real ship life. Her writing credits include published tour descriptions and tour marketing pieces for cruise lines whose land programs have won awards. Joanne currently lives in South Florida and when not at her job with a cruise company, is busy completing the sequel to Vanishing Angle as well as working on a few other writing projects.
