Development Pitch

I am seeking representation for my offbeat/quirky novel, HOLOGRAM, complete at 102,000 words. In 1987 Boulder, holographer David Leone’s just turned forty. Though he’s mastered the multiplex hologram with a full 360-degree parallax, David short-circuits when the “ghost” image of a child shows up in his hologram of a bride and groom at their reception. Funded by the bride’s millionaire father, David pursues his goal to invent a device to pre-screen locations for events “imprinted” in space. Forbidden by his wife to see the movies of his first love, film icon Lucille Muhr, David returns to Circleville, Ohio and stakes out the Muhrs’ house to capture traces of Lu’s traumatic childhood. But he’s ill-prepared to survive the hazards of this staging ground, including the home’s mercenary owners, a lapse in his tree-climbing prowess, and Lu’s return to Circleville. A threat less obvious to David is that his discoveries might make him famous . . . for all the wrong reasons.
